file name strategy

Hi - It might that the for movies doesn't work. Where can I find the option? What can I do ?
What did you need?
I need the pure file name / movie name without date and time. Would be great to get your help!!!! - Thanks

Do you mean VOD movies from IPTV?

No not VOD - Videos which were captured from my IP-TV-Streams. Because the name isn't correct, the system captured the same movie multiple. (that spams my hard disk)

Sounds like you are creating recurring recordings and there is no unique identifier in your guide source. You need to record single from the EPG.

If that isn't the issue provide you zipped NextPVR logs and we can have look.

I guess the system didn't recognize that the movie it is a movie and store it under an incorrect name. If the system recognizes it right stored it under the right name, the movie would definitely only record once. (my assumption)
That's why I guess it's a point with the EPG-file or better in the connection with the system nextpvr. (What is a movie or waht is news, series, ...)

All names come from the EPG source and while a movie genre can be used that wouldn't impact any recording except perhap custom recurring rules you have created. NextPVR doesn't track variations in guide data on recurring recordings.

There was a change in v7 which remove some text from the title so I could see a movie getting recorded a second time Otherwise we'd need the zipped logs to understand what is going on, when a new duplicate movie shows up in the recording list.

OK what I see is didn't create a duplicate of MenInBlack1997 so yes I was wrong NextPVR does need to know that title is a movie and needs a year to prevent duplicates with your guide data. The fact that this movie didn't record to your rules that record by cast member to me indicates NextPVR is working and your guide data isn't always provding the year or the season/episode numbers needed to prevent duplicates.
