Can you let me know if these couple of updated files help?
Hello sub,
first test results: - With this devicehostwindows.exe EPG data is loaded again (the last one had the bug, that no EPG data was received) - The EPG detail data is complete and not cut of If standby is no longer prevented after scan -> i will tell you in 24 hours, if one over night update has run. Only one problem for me still is present, but i think this is not reproduceable: Not on every EPG scan ZDF (11362 MHz) is scanned. Live TV always works, and i am very sure it is not a problem with the satellite dish/setup. I don't understand why sometimes the frequency does not lock for EPG data. But as i mentioned, this is very hard to reproduce. In the past i had a batch running -> clearing all EPG data before update, because the detailed information in the EPG data was not updated. That worked in V6 -> every night clear and complete reload. In V7 this would lead to often missing EPG data for ZDF. But i disabled the batch, and i think that the EPG detail update works now in V7, but im still checking. Background info: ZDF has EPG for 14 days. The first 7 days have detail data- 8-14 days only basic info. In V6 the details were not loaded (added) by an update. So i did the trick with clear and reload. I will check (takes time) if this no works in V7, so the clearing would not be necessary anymore, and i would not matter if ZDF sometime does not lock for an update, because the data is in the database already. If it works every 2-3 days, it is still enough. Perhaps it would be a nice option in future version: retry once, if the EPG transponder lock did not work. Only one retry to prevent a loop, and some PC would try endless, it the signal is missing or bad. I will keep you updated. Logs attached. i did 2 scans, and in the second scan ZDF worked.

A small update: Right now the PC does not go into standby.
No recording running. Powered on since the manual EPG scan. But i will keep looking what happens.

NextPVR is stopping the tuner during the scan, perhaps loading 18 days of data is another timing issue. Code: 2024-11-30 06:41:30.793 [DEBUG][6] tuning request submitted (11362000) Unfortunately the new logs miss some nice debug information on stream stopping and active handles that might point to the problem too but neither scan stopped properly. Sub made an improvement for extended descriptions in this build, so perhaps you won't need to purge the database. Martin

I can now confirm, that standby is prevented after EPG scan.
Purge Database? Please help me Martin.

Maybe I can assist with my observations on my HP Win 10 Home version. I didn't know about the 7.X update but ran into issues that may relate to the update. The thing I noticed was my computer grinding away after a recording session. Spotted ffmpeg.exe running at 95% of resources with task manager. Also noticed that while it was running, I couldn'y not delete the mpeg file, either under NextPVR or file manager as it reported it was being used. Also noticed TWO ffmpeg's running, probably from the two stations I was recording were on the same channel/tuner frequency. Finally spotted the upgrade and installed it a week ago. But, the ffmpeg.exe just doesn't shut down after a recording. It appears it maybe looking for a non-existant memory or it is in some kind of loop.

Unrelated. Having two ffmpeg processes is normal if you create thumbnails. If you don't use them turn them off How long they are active depends on the speed of your PC and how many recordings you do in parallel. OTA EPG update don't use ffmpeg.

So here are the logs from right now.
PC did not go to sleep. Right now, no scripts are running with the EPG update at night. Yesterday i deleted EPG data before i did the update, to check, if subs new files will work. (last devicehostwindows.exe did not update any EPG). And i described what happend. That i deleted the EPG every night, was a setting i only used in V6. |
