Hi. I'm trying out NextPVR after many years of running a mythtv server on a mac.

I have 2 HDhomerun tuners, each connected to a different antenna. The tuner that picks up channel X fails to find it on a channel scan. Weirdly, the tuner that often does not pick up that channel at all, does find it.

Any idea what's going on here?

Thanks

Are these legacy devices? If so did you configure them on Windows, that is where NextPVR gets the channel list from. Silicondust only have provide Windows utility

Both tuners were used by a mythtv backend for years, until a few days ago when (it appears to be) it was broken by the sequoia 15.1.1 update. They are older devices, an HDHR3 and an HDHR4. I use the HDHR3 for local (Toronto and GTA) stations because the HDHR4 was prone to overload from strong signals.

The tuner that will not find the subject channel was used daily with MythTV to record Jeopardy* on that channel. Further, an iOS app ("Signal GH") tunes in the channel reliably on that tuner.

*for you, fellow Ontarian - 14.1 in Hamilton has Jeopardy at 7:30 pm every day.

Also, another observation.

I can disconnect the antenna completely from the HDHR3 and the NextPVR scan will still find the same 11 stations.
I can connect the HDHR3 to the other antenna (that picks up 22 stations) and the NextPVR scan will still find the same 11 that it did before.

This may even be a bug. It does not actually seem to be talking to the tuner and scanning anything.

If you have never scanned them with the Silcondust apps your might not be able to use them in Linux.

I can try. You're saying I need to run a windows app?

To be clear, I have been using these tuners without any trouble for years with a mythTV backend - a unix build – on my mac. And NextPVR is working, mostly. I am recording, scheduling, playing back… just not on that one channel.

Can you try scanning that one device, then post the logs?

NextPVR connects to the SD web server for the channel lists, these do not go offline for about 24 hours, that is why I was asking you to rescan them in Windows.

For scanning on linux hdhomerun_config is not used, it relies on those online services.

OK. For your information, the device that should be finding the missing channel is 10393C2F at IP address 10.0.100.94.

Here are the channels registered on that device. Until you do a new scan in Windows there will be no 14.1
