Also make sure that you don't copy the legacy device to the more modern device, they have to be scanned separately and merged. This is a NextPVR issue and it continues to surprise me how many people have the 10 year old tuners.

As Martin pointed out, that channel list was from https://api.hdhomerun.com/api/lineup?Dev...xvSV4FXETJ, which is the record hdhomerun.com has of the channels you have available.

For scanning on linux hdhomerun_config is not used, it relies on those online services.

FYI, a hdhomerun_config clickable app (with a GUI) used to be part of the MacOS HDHomerun app (inside the app bundle), but was dropped at some point. I think it was 32 bit. There is still a hdhomerun_config binary in /usr/local/bin that can be accessed to run a scan in the terminal. Which I just did now.

Quote:…
SCANNING: 473000000 (us-bcast:14)
LOCK: 8vsb (ss=77 snq=82 seq=100)
TSID: 0x42C5
PROGRAM 1: 14.1 CITS-HD
…

I followed this with a scan of the HDHR3 from NextPVR. Same result as before: channel MIA.

The same schedulesdirect account and listings group is being used for both tuners.

Right I said NextPVR doesn't use hdhomerun_config, did you do the run the setup in Windows yet?

Silicondust dropped support for the legacy devices outside of Windows you can't even access these channesl on Android, Apple or Roku without doing the the Windows scan. I did write a utility to do it on Linux but honestly most househols can find a Window machine.

So the scan I just did using this command in the terminal is insufficient? The windows application does something else?

Code:
hdhomerun_config 10393C2F scan /tuner0

That is how NextPVR could have done it but as I said it doesn't. After all how long does an application need to support devices that haven't been available for a decade. Even SD don't support this anymore as you noted.

So as I have said (repeatedly) got to Window and run the setup scan. It uploads the data to their server so NextPVR can use it.

Well HDHomerun.com is wrong. I have way more channels than that.

How do I fix this?

As I noted above, my 2 tuners need to be set up for different channels and connected to different antennas. From what I understand, merging will defeat this necessary setup. I have dedicated the each of the two tuners to discrete sets of stations:
• the HRHR4 is connected to a south facing rooftop antenna to tune in a group of 22 more distant stations to the south. I needed a notch filter to attenuate the local stations that were blowing its brains out.
• the HDHR3 is connected to a west facing antenna to tune in stations to the west and the very strong local stations (also to the south) that overloaded the HDHR4

I had been using this setup for years with MythTV, which looks now to be permanently broken on the mac.

BTW, but for this issue, which I hope is just a bump in the road, I am finding lots to like about nextPVR compared to mythTV.

In NextPVR v4 and below, it did use 'hdhomerun_config scan' to scan for channels, but ever since NextPVR v5, it's just used the online channel list reported by hdhomerun.com. There is no easy workaround unfortunately (other than running a scan once in the hdhomerun utility on Windows, to ensure hdhomerun.com gets and updated channel list)

Sorry, I did not understand that the windows scan would upload "the data to their server so NextPVR can use it". Thank you for th clarification.

Looks like I need to set up windows on something.

Are your serious about the question after all my posts.  Here is the answer from SD https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/using_th...y_hardware

If you have copied the HDHR4 to the HDHD3 you will need to remove the mappings from the HDHR3 device (open the device and hit the trash can close open and rescan after adding the channels in Windows)

Once you have both devices scanned, go to the Setup Guides and merge the tuners.
