nscripthelper in V7.0.0.241105

I have just upgrade to V7.0.0.241105.  My PostStartup.bat file contains the command:

"C:\Program Files\NextPVR\nscripthelper.exe" -pin:999999 -updateepg  (PIN changed for this post!)

It has been working prior to the uipgrade, but now failing.  I ran in a command prompt and got the error message:

Unhandled exception. System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (0x80131040)
File name: 'System.Runtime, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'

I installed the .NET Desktop Runtime V8.0.11 from https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/8.0 and rebooted but the issue remains

Sorry if I have missed another post or guidance!  What have I missed?

You won't need to install dotnet for this. If you have leftover NScriptHelper*.json files in your Program Files folder delete them

Did you use the installer? It might need to do a clean up of stale files.

I had this same error, and removing the JSON files did fix it. Thanks for that. 

In the process of tracking down the problem, I found that nscripthelper.exe doesn't set errorlevel when this happens. Would that be feasible to change?

That would be a change for Microsoft. The actual problem would be figuring out how to get the json files working and so far that has been a challenge.
