Code:
    - Descriptor 0: Short Event (0x4D, 77), 58 bytes
      Language: eng
Event name: "Late News and Speaking Up and Major-Country Diplomacy"
      Description: ""
    - Descriptor 1: Short Event (0x4D, 77), 44 bytes
      Language: chi
Event name: "晚間新聞 及 有理說得清 及 大國外交"
      Description: ""

Thanks for the very quick reply.

Nothing has changed in config.xml. The EPG was fine in version 6 and I havn't changed config.xml since then. I had a quick look at the config.xml and saw some language settings were set to default but I don't know if those language settings apply to EPG or not. I also searched for the words "Canto" and "Manda" but no results found.

In version 6, the EPG showed a mixture of Chinese and English characters. Some channels that are English speaking always showed the EPG in English. The Chinese speaking channels would show both English and Chinese characters. This was consistent with how the TV's EPG would work.

The tsmuxer file I sent you was generated from an English speaking channel. If you would like a similar file from a Chinese speaking channel, please let me know.

OK sounds like you didn't change anything to eng or chi and just use the defaults so that is how I will test.

Looking inside that full mux, that might be utf-8 CJK character set which I don't know even know if NextPVR supports, (sub will have to let us know) Could you provide a full mux for a frequency that you know shows the Chinese characters in v6 when you have time.

Can you see if this updated NShared.dll resolves the issue?

Actually use this one. There was an issue with that previous one.

Hi, here is a link of a .ts file that originated from a channel that contains Chinese characters:

Thanks I actually mistyped I wanted an example that mixed English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) that last sample was only two different  Chinese encodings on 4 channels.

That sample was 0 bytes so I couldn't check it.

Oh apologies. One of my TV tuners stopped working and I didn't realise until you told me the sample was 0 bytes! I'll send another sample tomorrow. I also tried your nshared.dll file and the TV guide was blank. Not sure if it is to do with the broken TV tuner although the other one still works.

Likely the broken tuners. I will wait until you test new NShared.dll. I did run your fullmux on 6.1.5 on Linux and it was not good though (but not total gibberish) and the new file works better. The only English I saw were things like CGTN and NBC.
