Hi All,

with the switch from version 6 to version 7 of NextPVR a problem very similar to https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=64117 has returned.

For some of my DVB-T2 channels NextPVR fails to obtain EPG information via DVB-T2. The EPG information for those particular channels is completely missing.

I know for a fact, that much more EPG information is available for those particular channels - my TV and my Blu-ray DVB-T2 Recorder are able to obtain the respective EPG information via DVB-T2 (they are not connected to the internet, so they cannot obtain this information from other sources). I can also exclude that fact, that something is off with the USB-TV tuner, that is directly connected to my NextPVR machine.

So, I know for a fact, that there is EPG information that is transmitted via DVB-T2, that NextPVR does not pick up. This has not happened with version 6, so something must have changed in version 7, that triggered this issue. Maybe you can help me? I attach the respective log files.

Further information:
Operating System: Windows 10
NextPVR version: 7.0.1.241229
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD DVB-T/DVB-T2
Region: Italy

At least the following channels appear affected (those are the ones I checked, there may be more):

1) RAS Das Erste HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 22 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more according to my other devices), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
2) RAS ORF1 HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 20 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
3) RAS ORF III HD (Freq: 474000 SID: 23 (H.264)):  should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
4) RAS SRF zwei HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 32 (H.264)):  should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"
5) RAS Kika HD (Freq: 578000 SID: 35 (H.264)): should have at least 24 hours of EPG (probably more), but NextPVR only reports "(no listings)"

I have also recorded a 1 min stream with TS capture like last time for Freq: 474000, SID: 20. The file can be found here:

With your sample ts, it's loading all the listings. It has full listings with no gaps for about 6 days.

I think it's a timing issue going between frequencies that is stopping your NextPVR server getting all the listings. I'll take a look at your logs for any clues.

Can you post another set of logs, where you're not watching live tv at the same time as trying to do the 'update epg'? I just want to see the epg update happening.

Hi, here a set of logs without having started the EPG update and without watching live TV:

And now a set of logs with finished EPG update and without watching live TV:

Was it the same, no listings for 474000?

In the logs, it looks like it found a couple of thousand listings on that frequency:

Yes, the EPG is still missing for the indicated channels.

Install the updated NShared.dll. Create a c:\temp directory. Add the following to the <General> section of your config.xml:

<DumpListings>true</DumpListings>

Do the epg update, then post your logs again, and also zip any c:\temp\listings-*.xml files

Afterwards, delete that line from your config.xml

I replaced the old NShared.dll with the new one you supplied. I created a C:\temp directory.
I added the indicated line to config.xml (in C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data).

I then did the EPG update. The respective log files can be found here.
No additional files are found in the C:\temp folder.

I have now also deleted the indicated line from the config.xml file.

PS: If I need to recreate the log files again, I might turn off/remove the DVB-S2 device I have as well, since it takes very long for the EPG to update, if I wait for that device as well (and since the issue is confined to DVB-T2 this should not be a problem, I guess).

I can see it encountered some error trying to write to c:\temp, but I didn't log the actual error so its not clear the reason.

Here is another updated nshared.dll, that'll at least tell me why it can't write to c:\temp.

Here the log files with the updated nshared.dll (I have removed the DVB-S2 device to accelerate the EPG update).
