Yes. I saw messages when I used that option, where two .dll files were missing in "\Nextpvr\others". So I made sure my whole Rtlfm package was placed in that folder. That fixed the problem.

What 2 files were missing? The rtl_fm.exe that comes with NextRadio should have the dll's the addon needs on Windows for SDR radio but I might have them in my path.

I just tried it on another computer and got the same message from cmd: "Created C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\Local Radio.m3u Unhandled exception. System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Other\librtlsdr.dll' is denied." There is no folder called nextradio in C:\Program Files\NextPVR folder, or a file called SDRadio.bat anywhere. I searched my whole hard drive for rtl_fm. It is also not there. After I got this message on my other computer, I put the x64 release from  Release RTL-SDR-BLOG Windows Release V1.3.6 · rtlsdrblog/rtl-sdr-blog · GitHub in  C:\Program Files\NextPVR\other. I ran --sdr again and everything fell into place. If I remember right, rtlsdr.dll and pthreadVC2.dll were missing. Now on this pc, librtlsdr.dll is missing. That's probably because I was missing parts of the installation. Is it windows 11? Or am I missing something? Because of that message, it might be on my end. Please let me know. The words "access denied" could mean many things.  I've attached a larger snippet of the error right before it happened. Thanks

By the way, I like to tinker with the blog v4 device. So I am almost finished creating a tuner for nrsc5 on the pc I got it to work on. I know what you mean about how it compares to rtl_fm. The piping is not so good. I believe the nrsc5 wav output is too unclean even for ffmpeg. I've spent hours working, and found a way to use multiple wav files to go through. I am using more than one, because wav files are limited in size and time in this case. I would like to record more than 3 hours of some content I can receive from HDRadio. Although I do appreciate the itunes m3u that NextRadio provides. it would probably suffice for my needs.

Did you run as administrator that might be needed. The batch files should be in scripts folder in NPVR-data

I did not run as admin. But I just realized I don't have Zadig installed or my device on the other pc that doesn't have the files from the install. I've been using it on the first pc. I will try that tomorrow. Exclamation

For rtl_fm.exe you shouldn't need to install anything, but to install it you do need to run in an administrator console since it installs to program files. I guess some h/w might, but it worked with three I tried here.

Thanks. I overlooked the obvious. I should have known the words "access denied" and the fact it's installing in program files folder meant to run as admin. I just did it after removing my old version or rtl_fm. All is well and working great!

Hiya!

Relatively new to this, but on my Windows 7 system I have been getting the same unhandled exception error after it appears to finish scanning stations online.

Additionally, when I put --sdr it just ignores it and then goes straight to scanning online to the station.

Would anyone provide some insight to this problem? Please find the error attached in the post.

Thanks

Are you using the 1.1 zip? Can you tell me the -r code (see post #1) I can check to scan.

Let's tackle the sdr question afterwards but what Realtek device are you using?
