I'm still not able to resolve the MP4/TS issue. The TS file remains and the MP4 file still has temp in the filename. I changed the Recording Thumbnails option on the General Settings page to None. For the timing file generation option, I found a <GenerateTiming> setting in the config.xml file (I didn't find a timing option in the web UI). I changed it to false. Anyway, the issue remains, even after a reboot.

For the EPG issue, I'd like to narrow down the frequencies that are causing issues. Can you tell me what to look for in the log files? Otherwise, no worries -- I can wait for a fix.

We need the logs after a recording conversion.

Sub needs to address the issue with an atsc scan and look into a second issue with no signals. You should be able to remove any channels you can't watch.

Attached are logs after a recording ended at 12:40 AM.  Conversion to MP4 ended a few minutes ago.  TS file remains and can't be deleted because NextPVRServer.exe is still holding onto it.  It typically releases the file after some time, but is not deleted by NPVR.

The logs give something for sub to look at for sure, thanks. I am wondering if something is scanning temp.mp4 after it is created. Are you using this folder with another app as a video library?

I am not using the folder with any other apps, except perhaps Windows File Explorer when observing this situation. I don't have any video library app installed -- or anything that would be actively monitoring folders/directories. Only thing to note is that this is on Windows 11.

I also am having problems updating the EPG guide data in bulk. I hadn't been getting updates at all (it would just stop immediately), but that fixed itself after a restart (it had been over a week since the last restart). When running the update for all frequencies, only a few will successfully update (2 in the case of the last full update). When I run each frequency separately, they update just fine (or, at least the ones with available metadata). I have good signal on all channels; I have no problems starting channels in each frequency.

If there were a way to update frequencies individually with NScriptHelper, I could make a script, but that doesn't seem to be an available option.

Either way, just getting you folks the logs to better help the process. Thanks for all the work you do!

You do have the same symptoms so once sub has a solution you should be better, I won't say good because of the quality of OTA data.

There is no API so NScripthelper isn't really going to help you. I did write a python script that does enable them one by one to demonstrate the it is the scan logic not the channels that are problem.

hello I am a different poster than the previous guy but I wanted to let you know I also am having my next PVR fail to get epg data from around half my channels over atsc in the USA. Am hoping for a fix. I found this post through google looking for help

Is there an estimate as to when will we be able to get a fix for this issue?

I was also wondering if this issue may have something to do with the EPG process of not updating the database correctly with the listings. After rebooting the computer, the scan appears to get about half of the EPG listings. After that, the number of channels with updates starts dwindling until after 24 hours there are just a couple of channels with program listings.

I also noticed that sometimes the closed captioning is not correct, when the reception itself appears to be perfect (picture and audio are fine).
