Direct access to recordings

Under windows I can define a recording path, IE \\nas\share.  Then when a client (IE kodi nextpvr client) wants to play a recording it goes directly to the video on the nas.

Is this possible under linux?  I've tried \\nas\share and //nas/share and both fail when trying to record (kodi client not even involved at this point).

No Linux by doesn't support UNC naming. Using Kodi as a client with pvr.nextpvr you can use still get direct play if you use path substitution in advancedsettings.xml
