Forgive me if this has already been asked, but is it possible to pull guide data into NPVR directly from tvlistings.gracenote.com ? (without going through SchedulesDirect)

That is just another URL to tvlistings.zap2it.com and there are scrappers for zap2it mentioned on the wiki https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/EPG.NorthAmerica. I started a port of zap2epg as well and it works here at home, I just haven't bothered posting updates or linking to it because I don't want to support any of these North American zap2it scrapping solutions when for a cup of coffee a month you can get Schedules Direct and the NextPVR support for it is great.

Unfortunately no zap2it users have really stepped up to help other users on this forum. You might look at Tempest since at least it is under development and the author.

For me, the Zap2it program still works, since the original site (tvlistings.zap2it.com) is dead. However, there's another site using the same credentials, namely (tvlistings.gracenote.com). Since the Zap2it program is compiled with the address tvlistings.zap2it.com as the target, I modified the Windows HOST file so that it redirects the request to the site tvlistings.gracenote.com (54.148.50.239). And now it works.

So, add to the Host file:

54.148.50.239 tvlistings.zap2it.com

Tied the solution above and it comes back empty. Tried browsing to tvlistings.gracenote.com and got a page not found reply. Time to try another solution I guess

While zap2it was shutdown its provider Gracenote has a business interest in providing EPG data for many OTT services.  Trouble is keeping up with the thousand of new channels.  Schedules Direct even has a few like Peacock.

On demand channels like Neftlix would be pretty hard to provide in a grid.

That can be simplified to just the aid= and there are various aid= that work (for now). I figure that is used for billing purposes from gracenote to the licensed user of the data so let your conscience be your guide. That's from a small town newspaper's web site in Canada https://lethbridgeherald.com/tv-listings/, it would be shame for their readers to lose access because of misuse of data and it's getting depressing just thinking about how the Internet can cause problems.
