Recurring recordings not happening and no pending recordings

Hi,

Today we noticed that NPVR has stopped recording recurring recordings. Even after a reboot, there are no pending recordings listed, despite there being 55 recurring recordings set up, some of which happen every day.
If we manually schedule a recording, then that works.

The EPG looks to be working fine and is populated with 7 days worth of shows.
I also did an EPG update, but that did not help.

Any idea what's going on?

Update on this - I set up a new recurring recording and it did work. Then I disabled that recurring recording and there was a pop-up saying 'Updating recording schedule'. After this, the pending recordings list was populated again.

Today, after an overnight EPG update, I noticed that the shows that should be scheduled to record were not highlighted in the EPG, although the periods of time that they are on were highlighted at the top of the EPG screen. (This is in the NPVR Windows client). Disabling a recurring recording to trigger a 'Updating recording schedule' resolved this.

Any idea how I can get it back to working as normal?

Your xmltv file isn't set up correctly. Your original logs were uploaded before the epg update was completed so we can't tell what is going on.

Ok, I have done the following:

Stopped the service and cleared logs
Empty EPG
Update EPG and wait for it to complete
Open NPVR client

At this point areas of the timeline are highlihgted where recordings should be happening, but the actual shows aren't highlighted. In the attached 'NPVRscreenshot.png', Channel 4 News should be highlighted in red.

Then I've gone to the scheduler and disabled a recurring recording, which triggered 'Updating recording schedule'.

After this, looking at the EPG again, everything looks correct (NPVRscreenshotAfter.png)

Then I ran another EPG update, to simulate what will happen automatically overnight - the EPG then goes back to not having the shows highlighted.

Logs must be zipped and under 2MB or you need an external link

Its not a public link.

One question on your test scenario. Are recordings showing as upcoming on the web page or are they lost there after the EPG update. I want to differentiate a display or recording issue.

A link to your npvr.db3 file might be handy too.

To be clear - the original issue of there being no pending recordings is no longer happening - just the issue with them not being highlighted in the guide.

I can confirm that this is also happening in the web interface, and just like in the Windows Client they start to be highlighted in red after I disable / enable any recurring recording in the Windows client to trigger 'updating recording schedule'. The upcoming recordings did look correct on the web interface front page before doing that though.
