I live in Germany and am connected to DVB-C. Unfortunately I had to re-install my OMV-server and with that to install NextPVR 7 instead of 6, which worked 100% error free - especially the EPG was superb and the integration with Emby was just brilliant.

V7 finds my DVB-C devices and all channels - but it manages to create a TV Guide only for the first 3 channels - the rest remains empty.
So, you might understand why I would love to be able to install a V6.
By when do you think the EPG issue will be solved?

Thanks in advance,
Joern

Does the NextPVR web EPG have data? If Emby only perhaps you forgot to update NextPVR with your donator information? https://emby.media/support/articles/Live...xtPVR.html

Otherwise no logs no problems.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Emby is not the issue - it's NextPVR itself.

But I just made a very interesting observation:

As a test I excluded the first 3 channels from the list by setting their EPG source to "None" instead of "DVB/ATSC EPG" and afterwards asked NextPVR to updated the EPG again.
Now again the first 3 channels have TV Guide data (so, my 4th, 5th and 6th channel) and the rest again remains empty.

So, apparently it is not about the format of the channels or the format of the data transmission - it seems to be capacity limitation to just 3 channels. Is there a setting I can increase to solve that?

Thanks lots of info there.

1) you installed as root which is not supported by the deb installer and you will need to change your recording directories.

2) you aren't really using DVB-C you are using SAT-IP which are quite different internally.

3) You have an incorrectly configured xmltv file

3) Then I see these for all but the first frequency

2025-10-07 21:52:58.165 [DEBUG][9] Unable to start device for EPG capture. In use, or unplugged?

Could you see if setting a LiveTV directory helps. If not sub probably needs to look.

Thanks Martin for the super-quick reply.

1: true, as I use NextPVR and Emby as a seperate services (deb-installations) in parallel to my OpenMediaVault-NAS installation - which normally works very efficiently. All three are running in parallel just fine (I'm not using dockers). Due to OpenMediaVault I access the server only as root via putty.

2: I use my AVM FritzBox (router) which provides 4 DVB-C tuners. It might be that the Fritzbox presents itself towards NextPVR as SAT-IP

3: All frequencies (tv stations) are in use

4: I have not tried to install a live TV directory yet - maybe a good idea.

5: What I have managed in the meantime is to incrementally further complete my EPG using the method described above (setting another 3 to "None" and scan again and again)... using this time consuming approach my TV Guide now shows the entire week for at least 27 TV stations (which by the way Emby is showing as well - so the interface between NextPVR and Emby is running just fine).

It's after midnight here now - thanks a lot so far!
