[Wishlist] Customisable timer default in Kodi

In Kodi, if I select a show via the TV Guide and then select Add Timer, the dialog has the timer type as Recording: Repeating (guide) by default.

I can't see any way to change this behaviour in the NextPVR add-on settings, so is it possible to add an option to set an alternative default? For my use case, I'd prefer Recording: one time (guide) to be the default.

Sorry I missed seeing this over the Christmas holidays. This list is created a compile time which makes it hard to do. However I am not sure why you don't just use the Record option instead of creating a timer. If it because of the padding perhaps change the default padding in PVR Recordings setup.

I thought it might be a shortcut to creating a timer and then editing the padding for that timer. Certain programs always run over and our free-to-air providers aren't so good at updating their EPG information.

I set default padding in the NextPVR backend, which seems optimal. Unless setting this in Kodi is recommended?

Hello, this maybe your skin that governs... on my channel guide, when the info button on my remote on a channel (it's mapped to i?) I get OK, Record, Switch, Find Similar and Set Reminder.

The last Set Reminder is "Auto Tune" to channel, vs, Record is just record one episode.

Observation: When selecting either Record or Set Reminder, the option for that specific TV channel & Show then changes to "Delete Timer" when I go back to it and click on "info" I don't get a record series option at all. I think there was a time when I recall record series used to show up, but I don't remember how far back. I rarely record series anymore this way, I just schedule it in the NextPVR Web App if I had a pressing need.

The only difference with setting the padding in Kodi is you can change it with a remote. If you are changing the padding time on a show by show basis you have to be thinking anyway and it really only a few extra clicks. Rather than using the timer I would problem hit record and then immediately go and edit the padding values from the guide.

The skin is the Kodi default. I do agree with Martin; it's not that much more effort to record and then adjust the timer settings. It's how the Windows NextPVR client works too.
