It occurred to me that there are two posting styles on the forum.
One where one thread continues for a very long time (such as webadmin) and another where every new topic related to a certain utility is published in a new thread (Comskip).
I was wondering if there is any preference between the two?

I've personally always found that a folder for the announcements, one for support of the main program and then a separate one for each plugin or skin have been the easiest to use. There could be others of course, hardware, general discussion, etc but it is sometimes hard to find things unless you come often and read everything. Not a bad thing overall but for those depelovpers in a rush a quick look in their directory or folder and they can be on their way to other things on those days that are too busy to weed through everything.

I prefer a thread for each subject - Too lazy to trawl through many pages of posts...

Agree, but I think it's fine to group all announcments into one thread in the Announcment forum.

i disagree with this, i would prefer that announcement were only around for a short period of time, and when you have a new annoucement make a new thread. an annoucement shouldnt really have more than 10 posts to it. support should be provided in the other forums.

i just like letting threads die once the question (or whatever) has been answered, and i hate when people steal a thread with another topic that has very little to do with the original topic (makes browsing for help hard, and searching since you probably just read the post topic).

The advantage of keeping release announcements in same thread is that I can subscribe to it...
