Ok first off I have to say that GB-PVR is a very impresive program. So far I have not had any real problems getting my two 500mce cards working and everything is recording great. I still have some work on the remote front but I am getting there.

Ok the problem. I have tried several different days settings for my zap2it requests from 13 down to 9 and I still get only 4 or 5 days worth. I have confirmed the subscription is active (until 1/2006). I have looked at the logs and it does seem to be requesting the correct range. Then there are multiple lines of receiving the data (this is from memory I am at work and the pvr is at home). There didn't seem to be a correlation between the number of lines and days though. Any setting I can add to get more information into the log, it is set to debug right now. Also is there a temporary file that contains the downloaded listing data, I would like to see what was actually received.

Note, I also use zap2it listings for a pocketpc tv guide app (on another computer) and I can get all 13 (max) days from zap2it in it no problem. I really need to get at least a whole weeks worth, otherwise searching is rather limited.

Can you manually do an 'Update EPG' in the config app, then post your config.exe.log file?

Since I figure it won't update at 1:00 pm today I will do that when I get home tonight (~8pm EST) and post the log.

Its so nice to have the actual person that wrote the code available, I think that is one of the best features of GB-PVR.

Ok nothing happened again at 1pm. I manually did an epg update from config and here is the log. The setting is still at 9 days. The listings in the tvguide now go through Saturday at 8am which is exactly 4.5 days.

Its probably to do with the error thats listed in the logs, but I cant think what is causing it:

Quote:10/24/2005 7:56:51 PM.968 ERROR [11] Failure in ChannelFactory::updateChannelSpecifics(): System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I missed that error entirely, I was just looking in the area of all the requests, didn't look down that far.

Well if there is anything else I can try to help narrow down the problem let me know. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the data from zap2it, something like a bad program entry, or I would think it would keep getting an error on the same day and I wouldn't get past that day. It seems to get almost exactly the same amount of time each download so I can get new listings just not very far ahead.

Thanks for looking at it and let me know if I can help.

if you zip and email your gbpvr.mdb file to me at support@devnz.com I'll see if I can find the problem.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Sub fixed this without even knowing he did.

Just for fun I moved my current install and installed the latest version (I had 94.08 and current is 94.13). Then I copied my gbpvr.mdb and comfig.xml over from my old version. I know this is not the normal upgrade way but I had a database problem and I wanted to see what the newer version would do. So to test it first I ran config to make sure everything looked good and it did. Then I ran an update epg from config and everything worked perfectly. I got all 13 days from zap2it and they were incorporated into the database without error. I went into the client and all 13 days are there and look good and all my old and pending recordings are still fine.

SO thanks Sub for fixing my problem without knowing. I have only had this thing up about 2 weeks and I was already out of date, you write too fast. Wink

One question, I noticed that the master config.xml was a little bigger. Would running the new config update my config.xml to include any new fields? If not I can manually add them. This weekend I will compare the old and new master files and see what changed just to be safe.

Great program, thanks.

I'll pretend I didnt hear that... If anything is broken though, dont ask me about it.

Why didnt you just run the v0.94.13 install to upgrade? This would have kept you gbpvr.mdb (making sure any database changes were applied, and kept your config.xml (migrating settings to the new file format).
