Tipstir,

On the suject of screen res:

I am under the impression (could easily be wrong) that for a 4:3 screen and 480lines you need 640 pixels horizontal and for 16:9 you need 854 pixels. This would allow circular circles without resort to eliptical geometry and a calculator :-)

For pal the magic numbers are 768x576 4:3 and 1024x576 16:9.

I used 540 lines in my meedio clone screen because meedio 4:3 skins are 720x540 (exactly 4:3) they also have skins for 960x540 (exactly 16:9). Also by making my 4:3 screen 540lines I was able to copy their font specs etc.

I have contemplated correcting circles on non 4:3 aspect ratio skins by tilting the TV screen down several degrees. Cant see it catching on though. The centre speaker falls off unless attached by unsightly G clamps.

I think he's quietly implementing some of the functions/tools/utilities that we've ask for.

I don't really know why, but I have the impression that gbpvr is a New Zealand product. So how about this as a task image...

I think we all are very curious to see what skinning changes are going to be made for the next version. Smile

Nothing too exciting. This thread sort of ground to a halt with no flashy new community created skin, so unfortunately you'll still get the same old blue skin.

The has been some minor enhancement to skinning engine to allow you to put shared resources into a single file, which means means potentially less work if you want to change the look of a button you only need to change it in one place (at least for all the built in screens).

There is also an option for skin designers to use a horizontal menu style, but thats about it for skin changes.
