Hi,
GBPVR is running great. However, since I included the my pictures plugin, I experience problems: GBPVR eats a huge part of my page file: over 1GB!

I tried to start with only a subsection of my pictures, however Gbpvr still eats memory and becomes very unresponsive.

Any solutions?

u r using version 3 right? and not version 2 (version 2 suffered from this problem, but to my knowledge v3 is fine).

I'll check the version tonight (if I can find where). I downloaded it one to one-and-a-half weeks ago.

BTW: version indication is a problem on most of the plugins.

I downloaded the latest version from the wiki (last Sunday), installed: and still it eats a lot of VM and makes gbpvr unresponsive... I had to kill gbpvr using the task manager.

you got it from http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki and not the old wiki right?

if you go into the plugin dir, and then right click on the mypictures.dll file and go to properties there should be a version number there can you post what that says.

its just ive done a crap load of testing on v3. i let it run with 65,000 pictures over about a day and a half and had no memory issues.

Yeah I used the new wiki, as far as I know. The version number from the dll is: 2.999.999.25369

I also read there was a file missing that had to be got from myvideos or so. I did that, but did not repeat it when I installed my pictures this weekend.

I thought there was no MyVideos dependency for My Pictures V.3? Unless I am mistaken it sounds like you have the older version to me.

nah there was just a missing skin file from the my pics 3 zip at first, and the my vids zip had the missing skin. its been corrected now.

you are using the right version, but i have no idea how to fix the problem, you're the only one to seem to suffer from it, and every test ive done seems to be fine. so sorry theres not much i can do. the only thing i can think it might be is some bad images.

I've just upgraded to MP V3.0 and I've got the same behaviour.

I store all my pics in a set of sub directories below "my pictures". Interestingly if I add all those sub directories to the virtual root and DON'T include "my pictures" everything works fine.

When I had my pictures included in the virtual root I did notice very high memory utilisation when I moved files around that directory structure. Do you monitor the files in the directory for addition/deletion, could it be related to this?

Anyway I've got a workaround and one of the killer plug ins for me just got better. Thanks.
