It should work fine with xmltv files that have german titles and descriptions.

Thanks sub !

Normally I don't have problems getting things to work - but this XMLTV stuff seems to be hard to understand ...

And the german grabber from Ben Buksch has gone to Nirvana due to copyright problems, the one from Stefan Siegl is Perl/Linux ...
Remains only nexTview and that doesn't work with a Hauppauge PVR 350 :-(

Anyone ever tried this on windows and can help [Image: rock.gif]?

Hi Tom,

if you're using Windows, try downloading the ClickFinder software from http://www.tvmovie.de. It is almost FREE (8 channels are free and you can upgrade to the "premium" version which is only 9.99 EUR for the whole year(!Wink). The premium version supports all channels for Germany and you have all the nice show descriptions / actors information etc. etc. (8 days in advance)

ClickFinder stores its data in a microsoft access file (tvdaten.mdb). I wrote my own little java program that converts the data from the mdb file into a valid XMLTV file. This works great for me. I haven't really tried it with GB-PVR (I am using it with SageTV and it works fine), but since it's a valid XMLTV file it should also work for GB-PVR.

Are you interested? I could send you my little java program if you like.

Hi

I also have some problems with XMLTV. Sometimes it works, but often there are errors. Maybe one of the reason is that it takes really long time to fetch all data... It ends up with a invalid XML file, missing at least the closing </tv> tag.
I tried NextView, but the PVR350 is not supported. Since there is only one PCI-Slot left in my system, I like to add another PVR-250 or PVR-350 instead of a separate TV-Card just for EPG-Data...
If this java-tool really works, you can make me happy! :-)

i have another problem with the nextview xmltv-file: when i install gbpvr and add the recording source with the xmltv-file all works fine: i get titles and descriptions from all shows. a few days later, gb-pvr seems to "forget" the descriptions, i see only titles. it does it even after clicking the update-epg-button. any ideas?

maybe someone has the same problem and can help....
