Hi all

Is there a possibility to include German EPG (e.g. nxTVepg)?

yes, there is a possibility:

export a xmltv-file from nextViewEPG to a folder of your choice. start the gbpvr-configuration-program, select the tab capture sources, select your source, klick edit and select XMLTV - plugin from the EPG-Source dropdown. klick settings, then browse, and chose your xmltv-file.

the problem is, that you must automate the "save xmltv-info to a file" from nextview-epg. but this is quite easy: create a new file called "getepg.cmd", save it to a folder of your choice and write the following lines to that file:

@echo off
C:\Programme\myHTPC\nextview\nxtvepg.exe -dump xml -provider ff > C:\Programme\myHTPC\data\tv\listings\tvdata.xml

just edit the folders. if you require your epg-data only from one channel, change the "-provider ff" - tag to "-provider #number#", in case you use "kabel1" it is d92.

now define a task in windows - taskmanager to perform this action once or twice a day or so.

and now in german :-):

hoffe, ich konnte helfen, wie gesagt, erst aus nxtvepg die xml-datei exportieren und damit mal testen. das mit der automatisier-geschichte kannst du dann ja immer noch klären. wenns nicht klappt oder es probleme gibt, melde dich einfach.

---end of german--- :-)

Mir scheint, das GB-PVR wird meine Lösung!

Now the only issue is, that there is no assistance for PVR350 by nxTVepg.
Actually I use a second TV card only for nxTVepg in my system. I bit of overdrive but what soll's.

that's the same way, i use this software: an old terratec tv-card for epg and a pvr250 for gbpvr. it works great.

pay attention to the channel-selection: in germany the channels don't follow the "worldwide-standard" -> gbpvr has no option for channel-searching -> you must type it by hand.

i used gottv for this. gottv has a channel-search-option and writes the channels in the channels.ini-file. those numbers match the channels in gbpvr, this should work.

alles klar ;-) ?

.... heute von nxTVepg auf SourceForge:

Actually I don't know if the "known problems" section is still up to date.
I hope you've given the latest snapshot at least a try.

But in any case, I don't think Gerard reads along here and I can't answer your question, so I'd suggest to simply send Gerard a mail and ask him directly. I'm sure if too many people pestered him he'd update the status info on the WDM pre-releases download page.

BTW the PVR cards reportedly work great with nxtvepg on Linux.

have you tried with wintv? just check out any software which tunes channels itself. then look at the list of channels and copy the numbers to gbpvr. open the configuration dialog, go to the capture sources tab, choose your source, press edit and in the popup-window you can see the channels.

if the list is empty, press the "update epg" - button. close the configuration dialog, open it again, then there must be some channels. in the last column, source channel, you can see the channel numbers. change those numbers to the numbers you acquired with wintv or similar.

the problem with gottv is, that the new versions of the software have havy changes and i do not know, where to find the channel-listing
