SlimmGBPVR - replacement for GBPVRTray

I have completed a functioning version of my GBPVRTray replacement. wiki entry.
Note: this version is not compatible with GBPVR v0.96.12 or earlier.

This now includes:

• A tray utility (the original Slimm GB-PVR)
  
• GBPVRcli (forum thread)
  

To install:

1. Ensure you have installed .NET Framework 2.0. It can probably be installed by accessing your Windows Update or you can follow this download link: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable
   
2. Download and install SlimmGBPVR (for v9707+): Direct download link
   

About my use of GBPVR
I use GBPVR on a normal PC and only use the GBPVR interface for scheduling recordings. I watch all my recordings using PowerDVD. I wrote this because of always having to double-click the system tray icon to confirm what is actually recording at any given time.

For all details regarding current version, please see documentation which is installed alongside the utility and is available in the GBPVR start menu group.

Features

• Customisable.
  
• Lists next few pending recordings and allows you to cancel them.
  
• Lists contents of your recordings folder and allows you to launch them directly. When you've finished watching them, you are asked if would like to delete the recording (it will move it to the recycle bin).
  
• Can shutdown your computer when current recording session has finished.
  
• Provides direct computer shutdown links.
  
• Added warning to "restart recording service" option so recordings not accidentally wiped.
  
• Can stop active recordings from right-click menu.
  
• Much the same functionality as the current GBPVRTray but you do not have to double-click the icon to see what GBPVR is recording. Simply move the mouse over the icon and a balloon tip will appear with information.
  
• You can launch "GBPVR" and "Config" from the right-click menu.

Um, I am not familiar with MediaMVP and don't own one. It does not knowingly support that functionality. The utility simply returns information queried from GBPVR and tells you what is recording and what is pending.

I didn't think GBPVR officially supported .net framework 2.0. Does GBPRV run cleanly with 2.0?

You'd also need to have the .net 1.1 framework installed. The should co-exist on the one machine.

Very nice, works very well! Of course I do have a couple of suggestions

1. A very short delay (1/2 a sec maybe) before the balloon pops us (or a configurable time). This is to prevent accidentally hitting the icon, or for the times when you want to right-click it.

2. A restart recording service option on the right-click menu.

The app is great. It seems that users of gbpvr as a scheduling tool in PC, like me, will enjoy it much.
Still, I found a bug: when the tool-tip is about to inform a manual recording (and not a recording from the guide), it crashes with this msg:

I found a bug: when the tool-tip is about to inform a manual recording (and not a recording from the guide), it crashes.

Bug fixed, new version uploaded. I was trying to retrieve the programme title from the EPG but, of course, for a manual recording, there is no direct EPG entry. Duh!
