Should read...

How can we establish a concrete set of goals for a new main menu skin?

tipstir and reboot make good points though.

a new skin would probably have its biggest impact on sub, seeing as any resulting increase in userbase will result in more requests for features and so on, which would fall on subs doormat. He'd obviously have final veto on anything we come up with anyway, so maybe the initial goals should be fleshed out by sub too?

sub, Id be interested to know if you have an idea of what sort of userbase/community you want to grow around GBPVR, and if you see the default skin as a tool to attract those users specifically?

Sub:

Just one question about skinning in the whenever it comes out next version. Have you made any changes to the Video and Music libraries? Right now there's not much you can do with them besides change colors and some buttons?

Yeah, sorry. It just wasnt high on the priority list, and I've been pretty busy with other stuff.

No real complaints. I'm more interested in things working well. It's just that right now, things are working splendidly, so i keep looking for something else to get into. Smile

...well, I'm pretty happy with the community we've already got, but I do find the current blue skin a bit ugly, and its often pointed out by users. I just wanted something that looked a bit nicer, and had a bit more of a professional look. At the moment it looks like it was made by a programmer.

I'm going to get my wife and daughter to design some things, and I'll post their ideas (in a new thread). Maybe if the women get involved here, us guys might actually pick a skin everyone likes (and doesn't look like it was made by a programmer) Big Grin

Last night I identified some of The Collection's strengths and weakness.

Does this help?
