Alright, i try to give my best with my bad english-knowledge.

1. I navigate from the main-menu to the TV-Guide.
2. I look and browse through the TV-Guide
3. I hit ESC to go back one step.
4. Now i try to navigate fast to the Mainmenu-Button and press Enter
5. Now comes the secret! If the TaskImage not fully built up on the screen, the navigation doesn't work right. I am then in the mainmenu, after this in LiveTV menu again and so on (till the TaskImage was fully built up for the Menuentry)
4b. This way i go SLOWLY to the Mainmenu-Button and WAIT till the TaskImage is fully built up. Pressing now Enter and i am without probs within the main menu.

Did you nearly understand, what i mean?
I've been trying to follow you steps, but it seems to be working for me.

I've switched to your (heavily modified) main menu skin.xml. Start GB-PVR, go to the tv guide. I then press 'escape' follow immediately by the down key several times. This seems to work for me even though the task image hasnt fully appeared.

Are you using an XCard or PVR350?

Thanks for your replies =)

No sub, i am using 2 PVR-150 Cards. I am using VMR9 with an integrated Graphicsengine (the new GeForce 6150 @ nForce 430 combination).

I try to think, what could do the slowdown, but i have no idea... Sad The CPU is strong enough, RAM ist extremly high, even HDD capacity lies @ 500 GB @ RAID-0

Moment... *thinking*, if i use the RSS-plugin is something changed @ the menuspeed? Otherwise i use the NVIDIA PureVideo Video/Audio Filter for postprocessing @ TV and movies.

What happens if you just sit on the main menu and press (and hold) the down arrow? For me it continually cycles around the buttons completing a loop in less than a second each time.

Can you try disabling the RSS ticker?

Sub ... nice looking change log. You seem to have made some mods to allow for common composite images. This is my vote for the second-best mod of 2005 ... will make it far better for all of us -- last count Tipstir's stuff has 40+ skin folders, each with NormalButtonImage I bet -- JD is likely the same, but I digress ...

Could you confirm a behavior that I think is a by-product of this change perhaps?

In 94.?? it seemed that calling skinHelper.getNamedImageNonCached(etc.) and giving it a name parameter that was not in the skin would cause skinHelper.getNamedImageNonCached to throw an exception. In 95.11 the same method seems to behave nicely and return a null image. Was this behavior changed?

Are there any others?

Thanks, dc

You'll get a default image returned that has a red cross on it if you ask for an image that is not defined in the Skin.xml or BaseSkin.xml.

Dito, for me too. It's cycling very fast by holding down the arrow. But, if i press it step-by-step to the last entry, the screen is flackering for 1-2 seconds !! It's crazy, and i don't know why this happens.

I disabled the Plugin
I disabled the Newsfeed @ Mainmenu
i removed it at last fully

All the same. Only if i disable the TaskImage, all is running smooth...

Ok, it's not that very big bug. I could be slower pressing for main menu, it's perhaps only facelifting needed or so ^^

Btw., many thanks to your great work! I love your PVR!!!

I cant picture what this 'flackering' is that you're trying to describe. Previously you said that navigation wasnt working because of this. It really isnt clear to me what you're talking about. Give it to me again in as much detail as you can.
