deleting the value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\devnz\LastVolume worked for my problem as well. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, it was good to get the system working again. Incredibly frustrating not being able to pinpoint the problem, as I have two systems running, both latest version, and the setup on both looked identical.
