New release seems to be working well here MVP in particular seems to be much more stable and responsive.

Only problem I have which I didnt have before upgrade is that the screen saver does not seem to kick in when I am playing MP3s using the music player plugin

I have tried the blue skin and the colour collection skin both react the same way

config.xml contains the following

<!-- Default plugins -->
<ScreenSaverEnabled>true</ScreenSaverEnabled>
<ScreenSaverPlugin>Simple Screen Saver</ScreenSaverPlugin>
<ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>180</ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>

which appears identical to previous versions

anybody got any ideas as to the problem

In the midst of upgrading the high vis skin, and spotted that despite the release notes saying
Quote:- Exiting screen saver now returns to the screen you were on rather than the main menu.
This doesn't appear to be working for me- ie after the screen saver comes on exiting takes you to the main menu rather than the plugin. Is there a config.xml setting that governs this?

cheers,

This only applies to the built in screen saver. I'm guessing you're not using the standard screen saver?

Yeah, I know. I'm not so sure about this one myself. I may yet remove this new feature and put it back to how it was.
Noooo!!! Keep the Resume button on the pop-up menu (or at least provide an option for it). I much prefer it this way round.
wow - apparently I already did add an option. See <UseMenuResumeButton> in the config.xml file. I must have done that one in my sleep.

Hehe, I guess the new relases are just as surpricing to you as to the rest of us Wink

However.. I now have this in my config.xml:
Code:
<PromptForResume>true</PromptForResume>
  <StoreResumeStartExclusion>0</StoreResumeStartExclusion>
  <StoreResumeEndExclusion>0</StoreResumeEndExclusion>
  <UseMenuResumeButton>false</UseMenuResumeButton>

I only changed UseMenuResumeButton in the file, and, I haven't got the Resume button now, but I still don't have the OSD prompt back?

You can see the visualization as soon as the music starts playing in the 'music library' plugin, or when the default screen saver kicks in if music is playing.

It looks pretty nice, even on my slow computer, is there a way to troggle fullscreen visualizations on/off from the remote? (so you don't have to wait for the screen saver to kick in).

there is an API call to start the screensaver, and probably now every music plugin will take advantage of this. ive mapped it to a remote button in the next version of my music.

Sub,

I'm having an occasional problem when going into the TV guide. The screen will be blue on the top and black on the bottom with no information. If I hit back/exit then go back in it works correctly most of the time but sometimes will lock up completely. The MVP goes to contacting servers and will not come back without restarting the recording service. I've attached all 4 logs.

Thought I had replied to this, but must have hit preview rather than submit - I am in fact using the standard screen saver - ie no windows screensaver enabled, wait three minutes in GB-PVR and get a black screen screensaver with a little gray GB-PVR logo on it.
My config.xml stuff should be standard:
<!-- Default plugins -->
<ScreenSaverEnabled>true</ScreenSaverEnabled>
<ScreenSaverPlugin>Simple Screen Saver</ScreenSaverPlugin>
<ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>180</ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>

But still get similar behaviour as the previous version. Eg I just browsed the Music Library (in icon mode, which has a couple of skinning problems, but that's a different thread Smile ) and left it sitting in the middle of browsing. Three minutes later the screensaver kicks in, and when I press any key on my keyboard to exit, I find myself at the main menu screen.

Not really a big thing for me, as I didn't use the screensaver in the previous version, but I just thought I should mention it.

cheers,
tieke
