I looked at the TV Guide today (via GBPVR or the Web interface) and the grid is empty. It was there last night. I saw in the config that I had the nightly update set to do a complete reload (ugh - not sure why I had that set). I reasoned that it erased the guide database and then failed to get the complete update. I ran the manual update and it failed after a long time, saying your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. (It worked when I emptied the EPG and reloaded after installing this latest version, so I know the password, etc. is correct).
I ran it again to see if it was a timeout issue. It failed again after creating a log file of 480k.... so I am now EPGless. I've attached the zipped log file. (I am set to download 14 days of recording. I'll try 7 next.) The requests failed periodically with an HTML reply of 500 Internal Server Error. So maybe Zpa2IT is broken? Maybe I am collecting too much data? Here is interesting entry from the log. 12/1/2005 9:26:31 AM.282 ERROR [442] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'.

capone Wrote:Just join/read this current discussion: Thanks for the link. It appears that my problem is not exactly the same thing. I ran it again at 7 days and it worked. So I am guessing that when we ask for 14 days worth of data, that now includes even more than in the past, we can cause Zap2IT to puke (the error sounded like an SQL database connections error with the pool being exhausted). It would be nice if GBPVR could report a warning that is more accurate (i.e. Zap2IT puked... ;-). It did download some data, so it couldn't be a bad password, etc. This might save someone going on a wild goose chase over account data.

I'll list again, what problems i currently have @ GB-PVR 95.11: ⢠Remote Control -> fixed by you in the next Release ⢠Missing Videotext -> any solution? ⢠*new* if i am using the media library to playback DVD or Videofiles, i have some trouble! AC3 Sound won't be given back, i can't end the play by remote. If i wanna go back to mainmenu, i have often to press the ESC-Button. 1st time for stop Video, 2nd time nothing happens (Screen stays black), 3rd time it goes sometimes back to the menu. ⢠*new* i can't delete any file in the media library I'll searching for more errors... :-D Ah, at least one thing! I have installed 2 x WinTV PVR-150. If the first card is recording a scheduled video, and i try to wathc TV (with the only available TV-Card) and the recording PVR-150 stop it's recording, i get an error-Message and the TV-Screen is gone away. I think, that gbpvr try's in this moment to use the other PVR-150 for displaying my TV. Which logs do you need for this "accident"?

I've changed the logic in the pending maintenance release so that it doesnt actually empty the guide until it has successfully retrieved the show list from zap2it.

I noticed something that happened in the earlier version and still happens in the latest one. If you use the web interface to cancel a recording, while it is in progress, it stops it and leaves it for viewing - this is what I'd expect. But if you use Cancel, in the web interface, on a completed recording it removes it from the list of recordings (in the web interface and in GBPVR's PC client), but the recording is still left in the folder on the drive. This can lead to lost space and no indication in the recordings listings that you have anything to rid. Perhaps the web interface 'cancel' should obey the rules of the config setting and either delete it or ask to confirm if you want to delete (based on the settings). It might be helpful to change the wording from 'Cancel' to 'Delete' if the recording has already completed.

This happens not only in the web-interface, it works the same in the normal GBPVR interface.
Related issue: AFAIK it still won't cancel a recording when it is in the "padding"-time.
