MyMusic logging errors on init

I have noticed that upon starting up GB-PVR or GB-PVR MediaMVP Server that the initialization of the MyMusic plugin is logging errors to gbpvr.exe.log.

I never saw a problem in the PC version of GB-PVR, but I have noticed that intermittently "MyMusic" doesn't show as a menu selection on the MediaMVP display screen, so I decided to look at the log.

I should point out that the previous log files also contain these error strings, even though everything appeared to have been working correctly in both environments (PC and MediaMVP) at the time these previous log files were generated.

Any ideas as to why the errors are occurring and how to rectify the problem?

(BTW ... I am using the "Flat Blue - High Visibility" skin ... larger fonts for viewing on a smaller TV screen ... and it does contain an OnScreenKeyboard subfolder with 12 files within it, including skin.xml, BUT there is no OnScreenKeyboard.xml to be found anywhere in the directory structure of gbpvr).

Added info ... now MyMusic consistently will not show in the MediaMVP. It is no longer an intermittent problem. :confused:

I've tested all of my virtual directories, both via Start | Run and in the PC run instance of GB-PVR. Everything works fine and all of the music directories are visible and play fin in the PC run instance (even though the log file still records this error when I launch the PC run instance, without the MediMVP server instance running).

It is only in the MediaMVP that I don't see the MyMusic menu.

And, now I've discovered yet another anomaly. The MyPictures menu appears in the MediaMVP, but when I select a virtual root to view I get a message stating that the folder is not available. MyPictures also works fine in the PC instance of GB-PVR.

Since both MyMusic and MyPictures have "MyDatabase.mdb" in common is it conceivable it could have been corrupted (I'm assuming that this is where the virtual root info is stored)? If so, is there a utility for repairing it or will I need to blow it away and restore a fresh copy and re-build all of my data for MyMusic, MyPictures and MyVideos?

no it wont be this.

i think that the mvp accesses the server as a seperate user with seperate rights, and this may be the issue. i dont have a mvp so i dont know much about them

OK ... since it used to work, looks like I may have to go back to square 1 and reinstall all (had to do this once before).

You are right that when the Hauppauge MediaMVP services are running they must be started under a user that has rights to the folders in which the media resides, but when using the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server you first shut down Hauppauge's services so all of this is being controlled by GB-PVR's service.

SUB ... if you happen to see this thread could you chime in on this, or anyone else that might have seen this issue before?

Got it fixed ... something in the config.xml was causing the error, but for the life of me I don't know what it was. I know it was the config.xml, because after re-installing GB-PVR and re-installing my plugins one by one everything worked. And, then I restored the GB-PVR dB's and the recordings dB, and all still worked. And, then final I restored the config.xml, and the error popped up again.

After spending 30 minutes trying to isolate where in the config.xml the problem was, I finally gave up and just manually configured everything again.

Now all is good, and I've made a "known good" copy of my gbpvr directory and subs in case this anomaly rears its head for a 3rd time.

Thought you might like to know.

Guess what ... both MyMusic and MyPictures is having the same problem on the MediaMVP again. This time there are no errors posted in the log except for:

BUT ... I was NOT getting even this error yesterday. So, I would assume that if I could resolve what is causing this error I will probably have it working again.

I can say tell you that what has changed between yesterday (when it was working) and today (now not working) is that I added the XRecord plugin ... BUT, I had tested everything after doing that and it was all fine and there were no errors in the log.

The OnScreenKeyboard.xml error just reared its ugly head on my last startup of the GB-PVR Media Server. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this error is even popping up ... what's looking for it. This file doesn't exist in ANY of my gbpvr files (current or backups).

Any Ideas?
