Do you normally use VMR9? If you set it to Overlay, does the problem go away?

Are you sitting in front of your machine when you tried this (e.g, not via Remote Desktop)?

No it's win xp/sp2 and i disabled the firewall before trying to install.
I tought that it might be windows media player causing the problem, so I installed version 10 and rebooted and tried again , but it still gives the same error and stops installing.

When I upgrade on top of 14, I get the following .NET Framework Error as config tries to start at the end of the install.

Ok, I think I can see what is happening. I'm guessing all you people that get this problem have video cards that dont support VMR9?

Yeah, its probably relating to the install drive. Sorry, I dont have any work around for you.

I usually use VMR9. I am Remote Desktoping in which is the way I usually do it. I'll go give it a whirl fresh while sitting in front of it.

I think you'll find it works when you're sitting in front of it. You cant VMR9 over Remote Desktop.
