When I try the latest (0.83) version (with the new 9511 gbpvr ver) I get this error whenever pressing the right button:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Feature:
  • New recording icons which should provide better contrast between recording and not-recording states.
Bug fix:
  • Closing the About window using the close button no longer terminates the whole utility.
Download latest version from Slimm Solutions.

Sweet app....thanks.
I suppose I can remove the gbpvrtray.exe in the start up folder since your app does the same thing....is this correct? If so, it would be nice if the app asked if you want to keep it or remove it.

Yes, that is correct. To stop the original GBPVRtray.exe running, remove it from your startup folder and close the program in the system tray. Please note, however, that every time you press OK from the config menu, it restarts the recording service and reloads GBPVRtray.exe.

I have added the feature to fully replace GBPVRtray.exe to my feature wish list.

Thanks for this utility - I really like it. Unfortunately, I'm having a couple problems with it:

1) Sometimes (including right now), the balloon says "There are no recordings scheduled" when there are. Right now, the next recording is a little over two hours away and then there are 7 other recordings after that today.

2) Sometimes (NOT right now, though), when I try to enter the configuration, the utility says something like "GBPVR is currently recording" and then a blank space. This has happened twice and neither time has it actually been recording anything.

3) This is a question, rather than an issue. The wiki entry says that this utility will display "the next one to three scheduled recordings". Is that configurable? I've only seen it display the next one scheduled recording (though not right now!)

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Thanks for your comments. The bugs have been noted.

  1. Yeah, I managed to introduce that intermittent bug a couple of builds ago when I rewrote the start/end recording events. I haven't nailed down what causes it.
  2. I'll look into this but haven't seen the problem before. I imagine it is caused by the same bug as above. Does it go on to open the config program if you press Yes?
  3. It displays the next single recording when something is currently recording. It displays the next three recordings if it is not currently recording. This is because a balloon tip can only display a maximum of five lines.

1) OK - if you would like help with testing, let me know.
2) Yes, it does open the config program when I click yes, so it's only a minor annoyance.
3) Hmm....I'm not seeing it that way. Right now, nothing is recording and it has just started showing the next recording, but it only shows that one. It says "Recording soon..." and the next recording and no more. I've never seen it show more than one thing. If it is recording, it shows the program that is recording and how many minutes are left, but that's it.

THANKS

Understood. I've made a note of it. All three problems are almost certainly caused by the same bug so once I nail that, they should all clear up. Fingers crossed!
