I'm trying to figure out if there currently exists (or if not, this is one for the wishlist) to watch TV in a (smallish) window on the main menu.
Similar to the current way a window for visualizations is available.

I wasn't really sure. I figured it wouldn't be that difficult.
Open up Live TV, select the channel you want, (or play a recorded show) then go back to the main menu and have it play where the task icon would be.
I could then check the weather, view a webcam, or whatever, and still get back to my program. At least I would be able to have audio the whole time.

Speaking of which...If I reverse the order of tuners (on my PVR-500) in config, so the FM radio is on tuner 2, instead of tuner 1, then go into FM radio, choose anything, I get the audio from my last watched station.
I can then use the rest of gbpvr, and still keep my audio.
As this is just a fault of the way I set it up, I thought it would be easy to (at least) get the audio. Video shouldn't be that much more difficult.

Someone should write a plugin Big Grin

Edit: How about video in a floating window?

I'll be the first one to admit, I know nothing of programming, so my asssumption's are probably misguided at least, and outrageous at best Big Grin

Thanks Sub, I'll carry on then, enjoying what I have Big Grin

Hm, i like this idea... :-D A small TV-Window in the mainmenu, instead the Task-Images...

But i think, that this is not so easy done. The TV-Tuner will be initialised if we start the "Live TV". If we are going back, the access to the TV-Tuner seems to be closed. To make a TV-Preview instead a Task-Image seems to mess up the Programm a little bit... *g*

I used to work with a guy, Charlie Dwyer, who always got a kick out of the "inconsequential changes" argument. He used to say that "inconsequential coding changes: those are the changes the other guy has to make."
