Cable Card

At CES this year, I've seen all the new CableCard hardware for MCE coming out, that allows watching of HD (encrypted) digital cable on an HTPC. I am not in any way expecting this to be implementined anytime soon, but am just wondering as to whether or not you will ever support it.

To be honest, I have no idea. We'll just have to wait and see how microsoft does it.

Well, we know that CableCARD isn't happening on any OS other than Vista. Guess what that means... DRM'd!

Yes, I suspect if we get support for it in GB-PVR, it'll be by way of DRM encoded .DVR-MS recordings...still, for most people that only want the ability to record and playback digital cable, this will give them what they need.

I figured as much, but still, I'll take what I can can get for digital cable on my non-MCE HTPC.
