Yes thats right. There is an option in the config file to tell it how many trailers to keep at once. It won't get what you already got and it won't put more than that max trailers option on your hard drive at one time.

wtg Wrote:A question about playing these trailers in gbpvr. I downloaded the quicktime alternative and when I click on them in Windows they play fine, though they launch mediaplayer classic. When I try to view them in gbpvr, they don't play at all. I assume this has to do with the directshowfilter and quicktime alternative, but I'm not sure how to correct it.

I downloaded this: http://www.softella.com/dsfm/index.en.htm which works great for showing you the decoders installed. The trouble is I'm not sure what I'm looking for with the quick time alternative. Does anyone know the name of the decoder I should look for? Or does anyone have other ideas?

Thanks!

edit: posted wrong link above at first
There has been a lot of talk about how to get these to play. I am having issues myself. I know it doesn't work for me at all if I run in overlay mode. I know some people have said they have gotten then all to play but Maybe post a new topic on this. I don't really have time to rebuild my computer right now ( I have it kinda buggered up due to testing all sorts of codecs) When I do though I am sure we can figure out how to get these to play. If someone else has already done it though (I think they have) that would be better if they just told us how. Smile

I just found out I have the say error...I think there was a post about it recently.

So how does the limit/new work? You have a limit for the total number, so it won't get more once that is reached. So if I delete an old one, will it replace that one, instead of favoring a new one?

I think it would be great if it kept a record of the files/size in an config/xml, so it can compare and not retrieve watched files. That way you can clean out what you don't want, and get newer files in favor.

Actually that is what the trailer_history.txt file is for. It keeps track of trailers you have already downloaded. Before trying to get a new movie trailer it checks there first. If its there it knows you have already got it. So it won't redownload it. So if I understand you right it already does what you are asking.
If I don't understand you right please let me know Smile

That's great! I only got as far as downloading, so I wasn't sure yet. I should have checked it out, but thanks for letting me know.

And, I found a fix for the *.mov problem. I ditched Apple's QT player for QT alternative from free-codecs.com (newest build). Now they work. Seems contrary, but I guess it eliviated some exclusivity Apple's player put on it (Apple isn't one to make things flexible).

* I should say thx to others for that...I found posts where people had tried and had luck...it was just funny because I used to use QT Alt...shouldn't have left a good thing Smile

Well I am glad to hear the solution to the mov problem. I will be rebuilding my computer some time this week so it should fix it then. Also in the coming weeks be sure to look for new version. I got a lot of stuff planned like integration with the theatre plugin as well as some other things. And hey if you want it to do something it doesn't drop me a message and I will add it to my list.

And if you have any problems with it just don't ditch it. Post here or site message me and I will get it fixed for you.

Well, the QT Alt fix does work, but not for everything. It fixed it for the Superman preview, but not for King Kong. There's picutre but no audio. I can't see what the difference in the audio, so maybe it's some new format tweakl not covered in the Alt version.

And I apprecaite your open offer to all for the suggestions. I'm sure you'll get a few Smile

When I was looking into it I found the audio was mpeg 4 audio compressed using the 3ivx codec. Even on the 3ivx website they have users with the same problem. I think its something in the 3vix codec that needs updating. You might want to check that forum. There webiste is http://www.3ivx.com/

Awesome job nedens! Works great.

I have QTalt, but like others it doesn't play audio on some previews inside GBPVR. Seems kinda odd, doesn't GBPVR just let windows play the file basically? Also, it doesn't play in widescreen, leaving the picture stretched vertically. Anyone have a solution for that?

I can go to the file manually and just drag it over to my TV and it works perfect. Maybe GBPVR could just do that somehow...still, thought that was practically what it did.

If you don't use overlay mode and you use vmr9 or vmr7 you can press f7 to change screen modes. That willl fix the wide screen issue. Not sure about the no audio on some trailers though.
