Hi,

I have just added my MpegImport utility to the GBPVR wiki.

It's a little utility which will scan a folder for mpg files and generate an xml file for importing into GBPVR recordings.

Hope someone finds it useful.

It can be found at:
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MpegImport

Regards.

Hi,

I have just uploaded version 0.2 of MpegImport to the wiki

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MpegImport

Version 0.2
 • Modified so that renamed recordings will be pulled into the generated XML file.

If a recording is named as below then the recorded date, start and end times will be taken from the filename
D:\Recordings\CSI Crime Scene Investigation\CSI Crime Scene Investigation_20051105_21102210.mpg
otherwise the recorded date, start and end times will be taken from the created and modified times of the file.
D:\Recordings\CSI Crime Scene Investigation\Ch-Ch-Changes.mpg
The show name will be taken from the containing folder name

• Command line support removed

Regards.

Because of the way I record, edit, and rename, then move the files to another drive/folder, can this addon "read" those files, then import them?
Using KingArgyle's renamerecordings, I now have recordings in a folder (for ex) "TV Shows", and inside would be "CSI Crime Scene Investigation - Ch-Ch-Changes.mpg"

I have just updated the wiki with a new version that should cope with that.

Just spent about 2 hours doing it. Had to learn regular expressions to do it.

Going to rest now, maybe watch some recorded stuff

I just tried it out, worked fine. I had a folder with 4 shows, 1 was copied over from another machine. I used Mpegimport to make the xml with all 4 shows. GBPVR imported the 1 that was missing! It is simpler than the manual way I was doing it!
Very Nice, thanks!

Hi,

I have just uploaded a new version to the wiki.

Version 0.5 (19-03-2006)
-----------------------------
Modified to use the metadata.xml in NTFS file systems. If the metadata is present all MpegImport does is replace the filename property.
All other properties (title, subtitle, start/end time, channel, etc etc) are left as is.

Hope that helps folks out.

Sixgun,

This is a great utility, thank you for sharing it!

How hard would it be to add an option for a user defined folder? Then this utility could be used to move recordings into folders based on user preference rather than show title.

Just a thought.

Thanks again,
