Is there only one MVP being Hauppage?

Is there country specific versions of this? We have SCART in the UK not phono connectors.

Also if there is country specific stuff will it screw up how GBPVR works? I have a PVR350 card (UK) and it works (not fine but works) but this is a composite in and out.

Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

There are two models that look physically different, one with svideo/composite, the other with SCART. I'm not away of anything that is country specific. I'm using a USA NTSC imported one, in New Zealand with our PAL setup.

SCART has all the pins for Composite and S-Video, how do you get sound out of that one?

I assume then it will be down to the hardware version from what i have been seing as some have bugs in and some dont.

I also hear an S-PIF version comming out? heard of this?

Many Thanks

The model with composite/svideo also has the left/right RCA plugs. SCART model uses SCART plug for carrying audio.

No, I dont think the hardware version has been identified as playing a role in any of the bugs. There are few common bugs, networking issues causing difficulties booting the MVP, MVP disconnecting if plugin takes more than 8 seconds to return screen, problems playing AVI (since hardware can only play MPEG1/2) etc.

I saw someone comment the wireless version has this, but I dont any more than that.

Just so everyone is aware, the SCART version according to USA Hauppage site is RGB where as the USA verison is Composite or S-Video. Also has a hardware MPEG decoder but only 1.5 Mbits/sec to 8 Mbits/sec (the cards can do much higher but would appear this unit will not display it).

All sound like MP3 is done via software in the processor (its based on Power PC and is Linux based system).

See here for specs (USA site) http://www.hauppage.com/pages/products/d...iamvp.html

Many Thnaks

I have a MVP I purchased here in Germany. Scart to composite and left/right audio. User select for PAL/NTSC. I do not use mine anymore as I now have a dedicated system connected directly to the tv via composite out. Same picture quality without the MVP delay.

You going to sell it?

I had not really planned on it. What I will do is have a friend go check a store in Augsburg. It is about two hours away from me. When I was there a copule of weeks ago Saturn had them in a discount bin, still shrink wrapped for 25 euro. They had quite a few of them.

Many thanks, i might look at 2 (or 3 if cheap enough). Has to be SCART though, PSU might be a problem, just thought of that.... !

Whats the supply voltage and supply plug look like?

PSU might be £10.00 so not worth the hassle....

Many Thanks
