happy to hear Smile
I would like to receive some .csv files and the .txt files (reviewed by you for correctness) so I can add them to my reference set.

Could you send me a .csv, the comskip.ini and a corrected .txt file so I can have a look?
I'm not sure I kept them, or that I kept shows that would have that format, but I'll check tonight.

I ran more tests after my post and what I found is that if you enable logo detection, and your logo isn't in that very short initial show segment, then it doesn't get detected. Once I removed logo detection, the short initial show is detected OK (however the end commercials don't get detected anymore Sad )
Looks like logo detection supercedes that "short initial segment" detection method.

The comskip.ini file contains the setting
delete_show_after_last_commercial=1
This will instruct comskip to delete anything after the last commercial found.
If you change this to
delete_show_after_last_commercial=0
The last part will not be deleted.

I have the INI file set to delete_show_after_last_commercial=1 should it be 0 or 1?

erik Wrote:I found another possible reason for this strange "skip last 2 minutes" behaviour.
I did add a very small 1 frame commercial at the end of the recording to signal the total length of the recording in the edl file, I did the same for the .txt file.
Please try to delete the last 1 frame commercial in the .txt file and see what happens.
if this solves it then i will delete it.

this is the txt file for that show what do I do? I do not see a 1 frame commercial. that is if I am reading it write.

Sean:
If you want to delete the show after the last commercial it should be
delete_show_after_last_commercial=1

In the example you give
Quote:FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE 53852 FRAMES AT 2997
-------------------
1 6724
12474 16429
25140 29935
40635 53852
The last commercial runs till the end of the recording (frame 53852) so no need to add the one frame commercial at the end.

LilY0da:
Indeed there is a link between some of the more advanced algorithms and logo detection. If you disable logo detection some of them get switched off.
I hope I did explain that in the tuning manual.

Could you send me the csv and corrected .txt for such a recording?

Comskipad has three functions

beginpadding=x
endpadding=y

These act the same as the
padding=x
setting in the comskip.ini file where x is the amount of seconds the commercials will be decreased in size at start and end

startLimit=z
acts the same as the
delete_show_before_first_commercial=1
although comskipad allows you to select the maximum size of the part before the first commercial, in comskip its fixed to about 15% of the total recording.

You are right I deleted the last line 40635 53852 and all works. I understand what is going on now. Thanks. What would of keep me from being so confused would be if GBPVR showed that as a commercial skip them I would have seen it and known what was happening. What I did last night was change 53852 to 50852 and now GBPVR shows it as a commercial break.

Thanks for your help!!!
Also the commercial detection has been around 90% accurate on my system now!!! Great job!!!
