Jeff,

for some reason the VA Panel slows down my main menu to a crawl. When I go into any other menu (e.g. exit, my music) the menus are fine.

I know it's the VA Panel because when i remove it, the menu is very snappy.

It was working great for a while then suddenly it caused huge slow downs. It's never been the same since.

I would like to "reinstall" the VA panel, but don't know what components they are (what dll's to I have to replace?)

On the same note, how do you "uninstall" VA Panel.

I have the same issue, I am glad to see that it is not just me.
I have been sucessfully using the BlueMCE2 skin for some time now without the VA Panel, and it has been performing quickly.
Then I tried the Contour skin, which has the VA panel by default, and the main menu is terribly slow but all the submenus are quick. I think I see the culprit here... But does anyone have a solution? Am I doing something wrong?

Could you post your VAPanel-MVP.log and VAPanel-PC.log files (from the Jeff sub directory) and gbpvr.exe.log file (from the main gbpvr directory). I doubt they will show something but you never know...

Here's mine... i'm having the same problem recently.

BTW, where are does the video archiver download the show artwork from? Probably 75% of the shows I record have the incorrect artwork, so I was wondering if there was a better place to grab it from.

Something does look odd in your logs. It can't find images for some of your shows. I imagine that some time is wasted looking for them each time. I will try to improve that in future releases. I don't know why the video archive plug-in hadn't downloaded the images automatically however. I tried creating directory for The O.C. and Top Gear (two of the shows wth missing imgaes) and what look to me to be corrcet images were automatically found and loaded. Do you run the video archive plug-in?

As to where it finds the images, it searches tv.com and, if no luck there, imdb.com. You can see the search histry by looking in the InternetInfoFetcher-PC.log file.

Here is what mine shows for the two shows I just mentioned

Yes a solution would be great. After having the VA Panel set up for Xmedia LE and ContourHC, the interface looks perfect. I really miss it when I have to turn it off because of the slow down.

For those of you experiencing this, just make two skin.xml files for the Main menu. One for VA panel off and one for VA panel off. When it slows down, I just turn off GBPVR, click on the appropriate batch file which swaps the two xml files and continue on. I then continue as normal without VA Panel.

Another observation I've had which isn't totally substantiated is that if I watch TV when VA Panel is slow, it might fix it...but like I said I haven't totally determined if it's correlated

Maybe an intermediate fix is to have a switch to not have it look for tv show pictures?

The problem I have right now with doing any sort of fix is that I have torn the VA source code apart to try to restructure things to make it faster. It will take me a while to put it back together.
