Id like to see folders/groups for the recordins, so if I have 5 recordings of show X, they fall under a folder name X. Would help keep the clutter down. Of course this feature could already be in there and I haven't seen it...

Physically on the hard drive they are grouped but on the recordings/ready thay are not. Personally I would not like all of the recording grouped, SAGE did this and it was anoying to enter that group and then backout a gain just to see what was in there. I like this order better because it keeps everything from oldest to newset on the screen. Now if you move the files to the video library you setup in the config program, things that you want to keep, it will keep them grouped just like the directories. This will also prevent the deleting of things because that option in not available in the video library.

It would be nice to make folders yourself, I have some shows that I'd like to keep (okay, F1 races..) and after awhile they fills all the first screen of the recordings list. Just an Archive kind of thing where you can make folders yourself and move the shows to (from the recordings menu).

Sounds like a plug-in to me to manage recordings to the video library. [Image: smile.gif]

Yea, having it as an option to group would be nice on the recording screen. Lots of recording clutter it up.

I'd like to have it grouped under both channel number, show name etc.

Perhaps the proposed plugin could just be a frontend to the database?

Just to add to this request...I would also like the option of grouping by show name on the main recordings screen. My wife and I record several shows, but don't have time to watch much for a while. The screen gets pretty cluttered. When we have time, we sit down and decide what show we want to watch, then have to scroll down through many other recordings to find it. If we could group by show, and under that it would be sorted by date, that would simplify things for us.

As always, thanks for an amazing program!

Well I have started playing with this plugin. I have some free time at work. [Image: smile.gif] We will see how far this goes.

I am also thinking about supporting the locked and unlocked folders so you can block certain shows unless you have the pass code. (another persons wish list)

This might also fix the bug that forces you back to the main menu when you finish a watching a recording.

Other ideas :

Editing a recording (change padding etc)
Suspending a reoccurring program and resuming it (so it stops recording for a period).

Show the number of videos in the group so you do not have to go in it to check.

Maybe including the disk information as well.

I already have a plug in that does almost all of this. I will post a screenshot later today (if I can figure out how to post them).

jorm & Jeff, I'd love to test your plugins!

Someone also suggested to get a text-file with the xml-description beside the .mpg file.

Perhaps you could include an "archive/export" function that moves/copies the .mpg file and creates a .txt file (in the same directory) with the corresponding entries in the database.
