The menus doesn't seam to respont very quickly, so is it posible to make some shortscuts using the numbers on the remote? (so "1" would take you to the TV Guide, "4" would take you to the Recordings and so on).

-- Ignore this [Image: smile.gif] I missed this thread Topic: Menu Navigation, specifically on the MVP.
Also, if there's a long list of songs in the Music Library it takes a long time to scroll down the list, and if you just keep the down button pressed for a couple of seconds it keeps scrolling for awhile afterwards.

I don't know if this is a common problem or if it's just my computer that's slow (via 1ghz mini-itx), but I have had the problem in all the gbpvr versions I have tried (hmm.. I think I started with v11, now v15e on an new XP installation).

I have been thinking of this also tonight (it's late at night here) because scrolling on my machine (Celeron 1,7 Ghz) is a bit slow as well. But I also thought that visually it would be a bit ugly to have numbers on the buttons and that's why I made another suggestion: see this post:

The .net GDI+ library I use for drawing all of the interfaces, can be a little slow but *should* be alright on an M10000...unless you're running an PVR350. With the PVR350, it takes a very long time to transfer the OSD pictures to the device. Probably 80% of the time between screen updates are spent transferring the OSD to the device. Early in the life of GB-PVR, I changed the PVR350 support from using 32bit color to 16bit color to minimize the amount of time spent writing to the very slow PVR350 OSD. This helped heaps, but its still quite slow compared to a normal graphics card.

Also scrolling through a large list of songs can be quite painful with the remote. The remote fakes keystrokes, but the repeat rate is much slower. If you hold down the key on the remote, it the Hauppauge remote software keeps sending the keystrokes for a while after you stop pressing the key.

In the next release I've added ability for skipping a page at a time with the remote, which should hopefully help.

In the TV guide you can key the channel number and press enter to instantly jump to a specific channel. Skip buttons move back and forward a day.

Thanks for the quick reply [Image: smile.gif]

I am using a PVR350, but the 'menu speed' is about the same weather I use the tv-out on the card or if I use the computer monitor. Right now I have disabled the PVR350's output 'cos I got tired of changing the cable from the pvr to the graphics card's s-video plug, so that shouldn't be the problem?
