ZapTools Update

The zapinterface and zapimport files of ZapTools have been updated and the binaries as weel as the source are on the wiki.

The Interface.dll has been updated by jorm to use the Mutex command to single thread DB access. This will help with update bottlenecking that has beein occuring on some machines.

The zapimport.exe app has been updated to allow the reuse of the Zap2it XML that GBPVR already downloads rather than re-downloading the same XML again in the postepgupdate process. This will save Zap2it Labs some bandwidth.

If you are using this tool to supplement GBPVR data I strongly recommend taking advantage of the XML reuse option.

To take advantage of this feature simply set the <SaveZap2itXML> tag in the config.xml file of GBPVR to true and set the UseGBPVR_XML value in the new zapimport config file to true. This will increase overall zapimport time by at least 1 minute.

The one in the Wiki is still dated back to august 2005.
Could you update the link please.

I use two accounts with zap2it, one for cable and one for satellite. Is there anything special that I need to do to get correct EPG data? Thanks

The new one is out there......I know sometimes there is an issue with the wiki not providing the newest file even though it is on the wiki.

I usually can overcome this by using IE to download the file from the wiki. Were you using IE or FireFox?

Hmmm....currently zaptools can only deal with one EPG account...i.e. it could handle either the Cable or the Satalite account......but not both at the same time.

ZapTools may be able to be updated to handel multiple accounts. Are you using ZapTools now or are you just thinking of using it?

Yes, the PostUpdateEPG.bat gets data for the satellite account only.

Run the batch file for the satellite account.
Rename the zapdata.xml file to satellite.xml
Run the batch file for the cable account.
zip the satellite.xml file and zpdata.xml file and send them to uncle.johns.bnd@gmail.com.

I'll see what I can do about multi accounts.....no promises though...
