I've just uploaded V3.0 to the wiki.

Changes:
  • The main change is the listings source. The new source is easycinema.com. Benifits include greater reliablity (as britinfo.net had a habit of using non-standard layouts and HTML coding). Also easycinema.com has listings for many more (if not all!) UK cinemas.
  • Major change to skin (blue is included, working on others).
  • Core functionality is unchanged.
  • Now uses the UI elements libary for the GUI.
Please note as the source has changed, so has the config. Read the instructions on the config form for details.

As always - questions, comments and suggestions welcome Smile.

Have just uploaded v3.2 to the wiki.

Only small changes this time:
  • A 'Please wait' message is now shown when refreshing listings.
  • Small skin tweaks.

I have just uploaded v3.5 to the wiki.

Changes include
  • Moved to .net 2.0.
  • The Film Info popup now has a page of show times. This can be used to see all showings if too many to fit on the film list view.
  • Added a popup to inform user the listings maybe out of date.
  • Skin changes : Added GbpvrUiElements_PopupWarning special element and GbpvrUiElements_PopupWarningImage composite image.

Thanks for this. Very nice. I can see this being useful.

Just for your information though, I had a bit of a problem setting it up. I've got it working fine now but I thought you might want to know about this anyway. Here's what happened:

1) Installed by copying files into correct places
2) In config added the cinemas I wanted ("oxfvue, swicin" in my case).
3) In GB-PVR went to the UK Cinemas bit and it immediately tells me that the listings might be out of date so I should refresh.
4) Clicked refresh. The last refreshed date at the bottom changed to the current date but the messge about needing to refresh stayed there and it didn't seem to be doing anything else.
5) Since it didn't seem to be doing anything I clicked refresh again. This crashed and quit GB-PVR.
6) On restarting GB-PVR then clicking the "UK Cinema" button it gave me this error:
"Error: There is an unclosed literal string. Line 8, position 424"
If I then clicked the OK button and tried the UK Cinema button again and it gave me this error:
"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Subsequent attempts just repeatedly gave that second error. If I exited GB-PVR and tried again it started with the first error again.

To get it working I deleted the UKCinema files from the plugins directory, reinstalled. Then at point 5) above instead of clicking refresh again I clicked main menu, then when I clicked on the "UK Cinemas" button from again it refreshed the listings properlly and all worked fine.

Thanks for the info. I dont tend to use the mouse (r/c mostly), so that part gets little testing. Clicking on the refresh button with the popup warning being shown caused the error. Have fixed this for the next release.

Thanks again for the report, its unusual to get such good, useful feedback. And only your 2nd post too Smile

Yeah, I'm a programmer myself so I know what it's like when you get a bug report but no idea how to reproduce it.

Why dont you add an auto refresh feature in the next update, so that the cinema inform can be kept up to date. Could be a small batch program which we could add to windows scheduler. What do you think ...
