Eventually after a few EPG update, clean, EPG update cycles it magically worked, so I have full EPG again. You may want to uncheck (if you haven't already) the Complete EPG Reload option on the Capture Source tab of the Config. It is on by default.

Quote:Out of curiosity; is the mpeg decoding done in hardware or software on the MVP? Just wondering, because if it was the later, then wouldn't the MVP be a good place to integrate the OSD and video feed, rather than loading the server PC?MPEG is decoded in hardware on the MVP, but that doesnt really have an impact on whether the OSD is generated on the MVP or on the PC. I basically had two options when writing the new dongle. (1) a small lite weight client that is a just really a video player with all the interface generated and displayed on the MVP. This would most like have been some shitty cutdown interface only really lists the recordings, and maybe a couple of other simple screens that bare no resemblence to GB-PVR, or (2) a interface much like the model I currently used with Hauppauge dongle.bin that does all the user interface and OSD on the PC, allowing for the look and feel of GB-PVR, and access to all plugins etc, including those that extend the OSD I opted for (2) because I wanted pretty much everything, tv guide, search, recording screen etc. A cut back interface just wouldnt have cut for me. It was also easier because I pretty much had that anyway. I should mention though, that even if I had opted for the cutback client, the MVP performs like shit when its playing video.

Updated my main living room PC yesterday. Absolute breeze. All went very smoothly. Keeping aspect ratio on VRM7 is a winner!
Many thanks.

When you use xmltv, I think you have got nothing to do with that. I unselected it in config. I use a bat-file which I let download the epg, filter the epg (in Holland we are having trouble with some channels having overlapping times) than empty the gbpvr-epg and than update the gbpvr-epg. I empty the epg first because I had problems with double entries when the schedule had changed since the last epg-download. It works well for me this way.

Sounds like exactly what I'm doing. I've left the option selected - I doubt it makes a difference what it's set to.

Not related to this release but since v0.96.8 is what I've installed...
Sometime happened in the past and now with last release too. Probably the problem is due to the particulary configuration I have (two similar cards with quite the same driver). What I've done

For those that had trouble installing with the axwmp errors. I had to remove the old GB completely. Then install the new version. All then worked. but of course you lose all the settings. But it doesn't take long to recofigure one's setup.
I haven't noticed any problems. ![]() |
