2 STB's - one PVR 250 - can I do this?

Thanks - managed to try this out and it worked! Used the actual frequency in the constant channel box and the suggested tuner configuration.

More and more impressed each day with flexibility of gbpvr!

I'd like to do this in the US. I have 3 PVR150s all three are on the analog Cable feeds from my 1x8 distribution amp. I'd like to get a digital cable box to record the higher channels where some shows are that I want to record. I don't have the box yet, I would rather not get it, and pay for it if I can't use it. I assume I can either feed it into one of the cards and let the Hauppauge card change the channels on the external box, and of course the PVR 150 needs to be set to channel 4 if I use the coax or I'd think it would be more simple to use the composite in.. Is that correct?

Correct. You'd be better off using svideo or composite if these are an option.

Great that is what I think I'll do, I don't know what the digital box has, but I think at the very least it has composite video. I'll pick one up this week or next then.

Sub, don't you control two external boxes? Are you able to tell which PVR controls which box?

I think to control two STBs, you'd need two different channel change devices. As I understand it you can only control one PVR-150 IR blaster regardless of how many cards you have - the IR blaster software doesn't support independent control of each one. However, you could use it to control one box and a USB-UIRT to control another.
