Hello!

I searched the Forum and google, but could'nt find any useful information. I have the following things here:

Software:
GB-PVR (current release)
IR32.exe (latest release)

Hardware:
Set Top Box for Cable TV (Pace)
WinTV PVR-500MCE
"Beanbag" Ifrared Receiver RC6 (was delivered with TV-Card)
An IR-Blaster Cable (was delivered with TV-Card)
An MCE V2 Remote RC6 (was delivered with TV-Card)

Who can give me an step-by-step introdution, how to make the channelchange of the STB with my MCE work?

Current i have the following capture sources:
PVR500 - TV Tuner1 (filled with EPG Data and fully working)
PVR500FM - TV Tuner2 (filled with EPG Data and fully working)
PVR500 - S-Video IN1 (nothing plugged in, only made a channel called AUX-1)
PVR500FM - S-Video IN2 (STB plugged in, made one channel called AUX-2)

I tried to swith to the MCE IR Blaster for learning and this Programm could receive and understand the pressings of my STB-Remote from 1...0 to OK/Enter.

So far, no problem. But why happens nothing? Do i have to save any digital channel to AUX-2 and give it the Channelnumber from the STB? I tried so many things, but i can't get this SetUp to work and don't know why...

I dont think this Hauppauge MCE IR Blaster will work with the built-in MCE blaster functionality. You could try it with HIP though.

But even it were so... i don't know what to do, that i could swith within GB-PVR channels or integrate the digital ones from the STB to the EPG Guide.

Do i have to make an entry for every digitalchannel with number within the Caputer Source "Aux-2"?

You should set up a proper EPG for this source (XMLTV or whatever), rather than manually creating this aux-2 channel. This way they will show up correctly in the TV guide etc.

Ok sub, i am trying as you said. How do i map these channels? Do i have to map all digital Channels from the STB to ONE Channel on the S-Video?

Sender 1: 35
Sender 2: 35
Sender 3: 36
...

or should i give EVERY Channel it's own Number?

Or do i have to give the SAME Channelnumber as it is within the STB?

I don't understand the working of GB-PVR with STB's

If your STB is going to be accessible via svideo, then setup a capture source that specifies the correct card type and the svideo input source.

Set the EPG to XMLTV, and point it at a XMLTV that has listings for the channels that your want to access via the STB.

After doing the initial 'Update EPG' you'll have the list of channels shown. Next to each channel, enter the channel number used by the STB for that channel. For example, I have 'discovery channel' on channel 50 on my cable box, so I enter '50'. GB-PVR sends this number to the IR Blaster when it needs to record from this channel, in effect telling the STB to switch to channel 50. So yes, each channel should have its own number. Make sense?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Thank you sub Big Grin Now i can start to harvest EPG-Data for Cable-Digital, integrate this within GB-PVR and play around with the IR-Blaster.

NOW i fully understand the "system".

Thank you :-D

Hm, no way. This doesn't work with my Hardware. For now i stay at one channel and change with the STB-Remote. It's the easiest thing. EPG for Kabel Digital isn't available too for XML... Undecided

I'll have to wait till GB-PVR supports DVB-C Cards like the Hauppauge Nexus *g*

It does support DVB-C cards. I have a friend using a Twinhan DVB-C card.

...but it'll probably never work with this specific device. I seem to remember TechnoTrend have indicated they will not be releasing BDA drivers for the Nexus hardware.

Boah... even this Card is so expensive, compared with the WinTV PVR-Cards? What a feeling...

Ok, just waiting a few month. One Remote more, or less... no problem.
