I have the latest version of GB-PVR and a Hauppage 350 card. I have Charter Cable (with a DCT-2224 STB). I built an IR Blaster (that works, at least part of the time, I can change channels and power on/off the STB with WLIRC. I'm not sure how to test this further, I couldn't get it to change channels when I told GB-PVR to do so)

How do I get GB-PVR to accept input from the Hauppage remote to change channels, start recording, stop recording, whatever... how do I get GB-PVR to change the STB to the right channel when I've got something set to record? At the moment, I am manually tuning to the correct channel when I leave the house and leaving it to record, this works, but if I'm gone for the weekend lets say, and want to record Stargate on Friday and Paintball on Sunday, I can't because it records SciFi on Sunday instead of WGN (or whatever channel it's on) as I'm not there to change the channel on the STB.

I'd be happy to post whatever configs or info you need to help me figure this out... oh, and sometimes when I'm watching live TV through GB-PVR and hit the "Home" key to turn TV-out off, it hangs my machine and requires a hard boot to get it back up and running... any ideas there?

Thanks!

You should just be able to use the PVR350 remote to do this, with out any thing special. Just click the 'fix hauppauge ir setting' button in the config app, and restart the Hauppauge IR.EXE app.

That depends on the IR Blaster you've built. If you've got a executable that you can run to control your IR Blaster, then you should be able to set you capture source to use the ".exe channel changer"

This is fairly common problem if you're using the PVR350's TV out. There is no work around, other than changing motherboard in you PC.

I did that, perhaps with the wrong "fix" button though. My hauppage remote has 43 buttons, I used the "Fix 45 button" one. I'll try the other one.

I've got the Win LIRC executable set in ".exe channel changer" in the config, when I run it manually (Win LIRC) I can change the channels, but GB-PVR doesn't change channels when it has control. I'll investigate command line options I might be missing today.

As for the TV-Out thing, good to know. I don't really NEED that so I'll likely just disable it for now.

Thanks!

If you look carefully, you'll notice the channel +/- is actually 2 buttons, as is the vol +/-, making a grand total of 45.

There is no known issues with the ".exe channel changer", so I'd have to guess the executable you're using is at fault some how.

Its important to note that for recordings, or timeshift tv, the executable will be run under the localsystem account which is running the recording service. This may or may not have an impact on your executable.

If you disable your PVR350 decoder, and set it to use live preview mode, then it'll be running under your account when watching tv, so should be the same as running from the command line. Probably worth trying this to see if it is account related.
