I just got my WinTV PVR 150MCE and have installed GB-PVR. However I am having a little trouble with the tuning. No channels want to display properly :mad: I've run Tuning Asistant but have no idea where to enter the frequency values in GBPVR.

I need help!

BTW I live in New Zealand and I'm using http://ontv.orcon.net.nz/listings.xml as my EPG source

On the screen that says "create capture source", you should enter the frequency instead of channel numbers (just replace the existing numbers) in the "channels" area.

Run config app. Create a capture source. Set the recording source to 'direct recording plugin'. click the setting button. Set the card type to PVR150MCE, country NZ, cable.

Set the capture source to use XMLTV, and point at your XML file.

Click the 'Update EPG' button.

Leaving the config app running, start the tuning assistant. Set the card type to PVR150, country to New Zealand, tuning to cable. Let it scan through each of the channels. As it finds each channel, switch back to the config app, and enter the channel number next to each of the channels listed in your capture sources.

...then you should be good to go.

I can see most of them now, but is anyway of fine tuning them besides constantly opening the config to change frequencies then having to save and check on Live Tv?

Someone had a tip a while ago, and that was to add a bunch of dummy channels, like 10 or 20, all with slightly different frequencies, and then go to live tv and note which one works the best for you.

Would swaping to Composite cable between my tuner card and my VCR help with getting a better picture?

From a coaxial cable that runs from my computer to a splitter that runs to another splitter and then one more splitter before my TV antenna. The thing is my TV that runs of the last splitter in the series has get good reception.

Not sure where the VCR fits in the picture... running composite out from the tv card to the PVR will not affect reception in the tv card at all, as far as I know.
