Was this from the executable that takes the zip code? What is your zip?

Ray,

I had the exact same problem before I started doing some tinkering and realized that GetTheaterList.exe crashes just like that if run without any parameters. Try running it from a command prompt and pass it a zip code as a parameter.

Ex.:

gettheaterlist.exe 90210

Jorm,

I got the free C# development IDE, and I had a look at the source for GetTheaterList. I fixed up the couple of problems I had noticed (the crash when ran without parameters, and not getting any listings if less than 2 pages of listings were found). Let me know if you'd like me to post my changes.

I was wondering about this myself. If I type my posstal code in the search for fandango b3z1c6, it displays the correct info. However the when I pass this into the gettheaterlistings app it returns invalid zip or something of the sorts.

Feel free to post the source.  You can zip it up and send it to sub I am sure he will post it.  As for the other countries besides the US no idea.  I was using fandango if it likes it, it should work. [Image: smile.gif]

I will try to look at the code tomorrow and see why it is not showing other countries.

Is there any way I can attach the file to the board, or will I need to email it? It's only 10K zipped..

I tested with non-US zip codes and it works alright.

Also, I found (and fixed) a bug where if your search only yielded one page of results, no results would be parsed! It's a pretty ugly hack, so if they decide to change their page layouts things might break, but for now it works.. So I actually get theater listings now, since there really aren't many big theaters in my area ;-)

1. I would love to have it and test it. Please PM me.
2.Where does it get it's info from if you're not living in the US?

cheers,

I think you have to email it. I have not seen a way to post a file to the board. The code is based on the format of fandangos pages, if they change them we will have to tweak the code anyway. I only tested it on two zips when I wrote it. I guess they both had more than 1 page. Sorry about that. [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks srcchuck.
