Sounds good... now I just need a server to upload to! I doubt the traffic would be too much, so for now I'll temporarily host it on my home computer. Please don't kill my connection ;-)
Here's the link: http://gcm.dnsalias.org/GetTheaterListings-SrChuck.zip

1.I downloaded it and I can put it on my server (-make an account for this file only-), do you want me to?
2. I ran "gettheaterlistings.exe zipcode" and that worked, but how do I output it to theaters.xml needed by the plugin? "gettheaterlistings.exe zipcode --output theaters.xml" did not work. cheers, arttext

I think the download demand won't be too high, so I can continue to host it. If you'd like to mirror the file on your server, you're welcome to do so.
I've made some more updates. GetTheaterList now uses the C# XmlDocument and XmlWriter classes to ensure that well-formed XML code is always generated. Also, if there are no show listings for a particular theater, no <category/> will be generated for that theater, since that would be somewhat pointless. Are there any other features people would like to see added to the program? For right now, I'm going to stick with fandango.com to get movie listings, as the parsing code is already in place for that. To anyone using and enjoying this application and the Theater plugin, please extend a thank-you to jorm for writing the code that I have based my work on. Thank you, jorm

Does this EXE need to run every time the systems restart? or does is auto update?
Also is it possible to add the movie image and the brief description of the movie? Raymond

To my comments in my last post, is it possible to add how many stars the movie got?

I am glad that people are using it. And thank you srcchuck for enhancing/fixing it. Good job.
It does not have to run every time the machine reboots, just once a week when your movies come out. The additional information would be cool. We have to see where we can steal that from. Probably imdb which we can reuse the code from the imdb plugin.

For the additional content fandango has it if you click on the movie you get everything.

I've actually been thinking to add those things to the movie listings... I've been working on a separate project to get all the data I want off of IMDb for the DVDlist plugin... I've been thinking to update the plugin to show plotline, image, rating, cast, etc.. Are these things that people would be interested in?
Any feature requests are welcome... |
