This plugin allowed me to get my MVP to size properly:

I've noticed the same thing; the gbpvr menu screens on the MVP are a bit warped. I've not noticed any problems on the video playback though.
I'm not sure there's anything you can really do that will fix it properly. About the best I can think of, is to adjust the width and height to overflow the screen a bit, so at least you won't notice the curved edges.

This sounds far more like a TV set up issue. Inside a TV (sometimes available through an engineers menu these days) are controls to adjust the picture to remove effects otherwise known as barrell distortion or pincusion distortion, trapezoidal distortion and a whole host of other effects. You can also do simple stuff like rotate the CRT coil to change the tilt of the picture. (Don't do this without knowing what you're doing though!)

You're very unlikely to notice such effects on typical video playback but do when you see straight edges such as PC generated menus. You don't tend to get test card transmissions much these days which is a shame as in the old days, you could set up a TV off a broadcast signal during the signal downtime.

Eee when I were young(er)... Smile

Yep that's TV barrel/pincushion distortion, nothing to do with the MVP. I'd bet that if you connected the MVP to a different TV you'd get a different result, or try it with a data projector if you have one.
