I am new to GBPVR and WebStreamer and this is my first post in this forum So I'm not sure if this is a bug in Webstreamer or I'm doing something wrong.

Whenever I edit the settings (eg port,video/audio codec etc) from the web page, the WebStreamer.xml file is updated accordingly but the pathname to Videolan is also changed. I have Videolan installed in D:\program files\videolan drive But the xml file keeps changing back to C:\program files\videolan

Is This Correct?

I can't think of any reason that would happen, but I'll take another look at the code to make sure I didn't mess that up.

I've got a few personal things to attend to, that's why its been a while since my last build.. but rest assured I'm still working on it.

First off, the file webStreamer_v80.zip doesn't contain any images, which means empty image place-holders are showing up instead of buttons.
Secondly, whenever I try to click a *missing button* (e.g. images/manage_btn_play.jpg) an error page pops up with the following information:

Quote:Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
The system cannot find the path specified
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The system cannot find the path specified

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain() +731

Thirdly, I don't have a D: drive on my PVR machine which leads me to think that there is some hard coded value somewhere..

Forth, No sources were provided in the zip-file which unfortunately leaves me dead in the water. Why the omission?

Please advise how I may solve this problem so I can start evaluating this contribution (naturally feel free to address the reason for the source omission if you feel like it as well Smile )

hey anjo,

im sure you didnt mean it - but your post seems a little on the tetchy side!

Remember that the lovely, lovely people who develop these things do it for free, in their own time!

Cheers

Anjo: the paths are from the development side, it makes no difference what they are. The error is saying that it can't find VLC. I haven't used the webStreamer, but my guess it that you haven't told webStreamer where the vlc executable is.

normanr is right, it just can't find VLC installed on your PC. Either manually edit the webStreamer.xml file, or hit the Settings button at the bottom of the streamer page.

I was hoping to use my free time this week to finally get out the new build that takes care of a bunch of issues; just my luck my trusty Toshiba tablet is out for 5 days for warranty service Smile screen started wobbling a tad too much when I swiveled the thing, haha.. hopefully I can have my little machine back soon.

and anjo, yes the source is "omitted" from the zip. I'm actually a fan of open source, but I see no benefit from releasing badly disorganized code of a beta version that no one would understand but me. When things are finally settled down, I'll clean up the code, add comments, and probably have the source go out as well.
