Certain recordings have a very particular ordering of sound and video causing a bug in Comskip to show up.
It is visible in the log file as black frames with a volume of -1.
The net result is too many black frames detected.
If you are experiencing this please download the latest comskip77.zip from
http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/
Please report if the latest version shows any large amount of volume=-1 on blackframes, I am never sure I realy solve a bug :o

Thanks,

The cutting off is on purpose. I hate previews.
Its controlled by this setting
delete_show_before_or_after_current=1
This will delete show before or after the main show separated with only a very short commercial or only a black frame.
and this setting
delete_show_after_last_commercial=1
which will delete all show after the last commercial found.
Set them to zero (0) to remove the deletion
The build 61 is indeed in the same comskip77.zip you can download again
As long as there is ini file compatibility and no major update I do intend to keep
the main version number.

I made a typo in the postprocesing.bat

The %2 in the if line should be enclosed with double quotes such as

if "%2" == "27" goto eof:
if "%2" == "36" goto eof:

and also

if "%2" == "79" goto channel79:
if "%2" == "72" goto channel72:

The new distribution zip file contains the corrected postprocessing.bat

Please mail me a log file made with verbose set to 10 and include in the mail which blocks (identified by the frame numbers) you would like to see included instead of skipped and I will have a look.

Many people are running the latest version out of the box without any problems so it must be something in your configuration.
Is comskip.exe and comskip.ini in your gbpvr home directory?
You can mail me you ini file to check.

works great! love the new debug window! and the editability of txt.. but having a crash problem with anything over 2 gigs in size...it crashes every time at 2 gig limit on everything...many of my shows can go over that and sports always does...i've tried everything i can think of as far as settings,disabling everything except blackframe and fuzzy logic..am using ntfs but it even does it on fat32...
[which has 4 gig limit]
possible workaround, do half the file then the other half with another instance?
works great on hour shows but anything over and if bombs..
anyone else having this prob?

oh and it ALWAYS shows -1s with all my files...[at least in the debug window]
i remember when sound was first introduced it didn't...
is that what it's supposed to read?

pBS,

That is very interresting.
Does is also show -1S when you use a cvs file?
Does the log file show always -1 for the sound level in the black frame list (see the tuning guide)?
If so then I would like to receive a sample mpeg file from you.
What build do you use?
I recently corrected a bug in the sound processing that could cause the -1S

With respect to the 2G limit. There is no such limit as far as I am aware of.
Some of my test files are 3+GByte.
Or is it only the debugwindow that crashes?

not sure what version i'm running now,i had that one with sound broken before but d/l the new one...seems tonite it went through the whole baseball game without bombing,[first one all postseason] and it was a loooong one...lol
seems they really play with those games cuz it hardly ever catches any commercials, i noticed them doing things like making sound bleed into commercials,no black frame-straight cuts into and out of commercials..they really want you to see those commercials in particular, guess cuz they charge tons for them..
but seriously i had about 10 times in a row it would bomb out on long programs..
most of my shows aren't that long or are lower bitrate so works fine the rest of the time...
it may have been tallying excessive black frames...?
i use a pvr150 and also a ati tvwonder usb2 and neither show sound processing..
is there a command to turn on and off sound processing besides the volume settings? [maybe i have it off?]
i really love the new changes..much easier to tune properly now..Smile
will try it on some more long ones and see if i can find a snip that will crash it and make a couple of samples....if it bombs on the snippet i'll send that to you..
i know the sound processing does make it more reliable...oh and i encode sound at 128k and 160k if that makes any difference..
from the log file..
Quote:Frame 938 - Black frame with brightness of 22,uniform of 186 and volume of -1
Frame 939 - Black frame with brightness of 22,uniform of 160 and volume of -1
Frame 940 - Black frame with brightness of 22,uniform of 151 and volume of -1
Frame 941 - Black frame with brightness of 22,uniform of 206 and volume of -1
Frame 1033 - Black frame with brightness of 24,uniform of 117 and volume of -1
Frame 1129 - Black frame with brightness of 20,uniform of 233 and volume of -1
and the end of the log file...
Quote:Output: 5 - start: 180995 end: 189576
Output: 6 - start: 195039 end: 198946
Output: 7 - start: 209140 end: 218245
Resizing frame array to accomodate 22500 frames.
haven't tried with cvs yet but workin on it...
i wondered when it bombed on a couple of in progress recordings, so i went to do an old 4 hr show and it bombed on that one too...first one i tried...
